Trouwe Hond K-9

In a word: WOW! I have had many dogs in my life and had varied success and training them myself. I have always wanted that very well trained dog that heals, obeys commands and looks good doing it. After a couple of weeks at Trouwe Hond K-9, and a couple of lessons for us with our dog and Dave, I can see that we are well on our way to having such a dog. I am so pleased with the result, so far, and our puppy is only eight months old! Dave is an experienced professional trainer, and it shows in everything he does. From the initial consultation, to weekly meetings and follow up trainings, Dave does not simply train the dog, he educates the owner to provide the best chance of success. No matter what purpose you have in mind for your dog; house pet, hunting dog, performance dog or protection dog, you should begin with training from Trouwe Hond K-9. We have absolutely no regrets.

My wife and I brought Max our 15mth old VERY energetic English Springer spaniel to meet Dave after visiting a few other trainers, we knew within Minutes of meeting him that he was the guy to train Max. He listened to what we would like Max to learn and then came up with a training plan. 2 weeks of training and our Max is a lot calmer and is able to listen to our commands and walk on and off leash without breaking and running off. Dave gives you the tools and guidance so you continue the work at home at your own pace. Dave is a true professional and continues to keep in touch checking on how Max is doing. We wouldn't recommend anyone BUT Dave to anyone looking for help with their Dog(s). Michael,Karen and Max Howard

It has been just over a week since we picked up LuLu, our black lab. She was a bit of a menace when she went to stay with David and now she is just an amazing companion and a very well-behaved dog. She still has tried to test her boundaries but we got such excellent training from David that we know exactly what to do! David certainly knows his craft and shows how much he loves all these dogs! I have had several dogs and never had one as out of control as Lulu and it has been an amazing transform that David established. I strongly recommend David for anyone with any dog! Remember that you need to be just as committed as your dog does for it to be a success. But David made the training easy for all of us!! Thank you SO much!!!

I highly, highly recommend Dave at Trouwe Hond K-9 for your dog training needs. First of all, I reached out to a few dog trainers for a stay-and-train program, and David was the first to get back to me, and his communication has always been great, which I appreciate. I'm so glad I went with Trouwe Hond because Dave goes beyond a traditional dog trainer who can show a dog sit and stay, he understands the behavioral drives behind your dogs actions which he uses to effectively train the dog. Dave was recommended to me from a neighbor and I'm forever grateful. He took my unruly and stubborn labradoodle and gave me the tools needed to really train him to be a better dog. Grady was with Dave for a little over 2 weeks and the dog I got back was leaps and bounds better at listening to me, made our walks so much better, and now I have a clear path forward to training Grady so that we were better able to communicate and I can make progress with him, whereas before Dave, I was just hitting brick walls and not making progress. We brought our 1 year old labradoodle to David as we were having trouble with his dominance and he was exhibiting some aggressive tendencies - growling and biting. He was our first dog and so we probably did everything wrong that year, but thankfully bringing him to Trouwe Hond was the first "right" thing we did. Our dog learned his position in our family pack and that biting was off the table, what we should expect of him and ways to control the unwanted behavior while simultaneously adoring him. He has been darn near perfect every day since and we are beyond thankful. David's training (for our dog and our family) allowed us to happily live with (and keep) our dog and we appreciate David's work and time beyond what we could express. THANKS A MILLION!!!
