We were searching for the best way to train our new rescue puppy (7 months old) reliable recall. We did not really want board and train because she was a rescue and we wanted her to adapt to us and our home. So we searched for private lessons. We did 3 private lessons with Stephen (spaced out over a few months) and feel like we have accomplished our goal. She comes when called off leash about 98% of the time without any correction and we are only on day 2 of no leash in a secure area. She is a high prey dog (vizsla) so we are not 100% sure she will always come when called but Stephen trained us how to properly use an ecollar to have a a back up and she also has a GPS Fi collar. We are ready to hit the hiking trails this summer! Stephen was knowledgeable, thorough, and always available available if we had questions while training at home. I highly recommend!

Our 8 year old Pit Bull Hendrix was animal aggressive and very difficult to walk. He pulled on walks and was very stubborn. He would plant himself if he didn’t want to go in a particular direction. Whenever he saw any animal on walks, be it dogs, squirrels or bunnies he would growl, bark and pull trying to get at them. It had gotten to the point where we dreaded walking him because we had to be on high alert at all times. We found Stephen Swan on the internet and read his reviews as well as saw the various testimonies from happy dog owners. I followed Stephen on Instagram and knew that he was the right trainer for Hendrix. Stephen initially came to our house and observed our interaction with Hendrix and he went on a short walk with us. Of course, Hendrix was on his best behavior!! Stephen gave us some tips to get Hendrix to comply and we worked with him on our own. However, after a week or so, Hendrix was back to his usual aggressive ways. We called Stephen and decided that it would be best for Hendrix to board and train for three weeks. We were able to see his progress on Instagram and Stephen was always available through text if we had any questions. When we picked up Hendrix after the three weeks it was hard to believe his transformation! Stephen gave us instructions on how to walk him as well as educated us on dog psychology. We had a follow up at our house two weeks after Hendrix came home with Stephen and gained more insight to maintain Hendrix’s progress. We now love walking Hendrix around the neighborhood and know what to do if he gets fixated on animals and starts to show aggression. Thank you Stephen! We are so grateful to you for helping us with our boy Hendrix. ❤️👏
