Thank you Swan Family Dog Training for educating myself and Finn. Our home was the 6th placement in 2 ½ years for Finn – 2 owners, shelter, foster homes – and he must have been quite distrustful.
Finn did the board and train for 4 weeks. He came home listening to me and doing what I asked him to do including: come, off, down, sit, stay in addition to walking without pulling and even without a leach.
Steve taught Finn to trust and have fun. Steve educated me on how to follow through with these trainings so that Finn trusted me and I can trust Finn. When Finn began to get protective of me against my husband, Steve taught us both what to do so that Finn would listen and take commands from my husband.
I am so glad to have found SFDT and Steve. I am confident knowing that I have a trainer I can learn from and count on to coach/train my dog to be the best he can be. Steve understands what my dog is thinking and what to do to get him to respond appropriately.
In addition to the training SWAN also provides a loving place I completely trust to board Finn.
I could not be happier to have found a patient, professional expert trainer who truly cares about what he does. You’re the best Steve. Thank you!

Our stubborn, strong labradoodle Teddy spent 3 weeks with Stephen and his family. We had tried lots of different training methods prior to visiting Swan, but Stephen’s methods achieved major results! Teddy is still the same happy, energetic dog, but his obedience and attitude are immensely improved. Stephen’s facility is clean, well kept and he only has 3 dogs training at a time.
Stephen also did a great job of providing exact training steps to keep Teddy engaged and learning. Highly recommend Swan Family Dog Training!
