How much work do I have to do?
That depends on you and your dog. However, most owners find that if they work with their dog for at least 20 minutes, 2 times a day, they will see remarkable results.

We use a 'motivational' dog training approach. This method uses a combination of Traditional training and Positive Reinforcement training - tailoring programs to fit each individual dogs' temperament and needs.
We use a variety of training equipment - depending on what will work best for each dog and owner team.
Motivational Trainers reward through praise, treats, toys - whatever works for the owner and dog.
They also give leash guidance to the dog and owner to stop or control problem behaviors that are destructive, annoying, or dangerous.

Weekly or every-other-week training sessions generally work best, but we know sometimes life gets hectic. So, we try to be as flexible as possible with meeting your scheduling needs.

While it's impossible to estimate cost until we meet your dog, we have programs from around $900 to $1800 - completely depending on what we're working on with your dog. Our goal is to find the service that works for you and your individual needs. We also offer financing through PayPal Credit.
Ask yourself this: How much does a waste of time & money cost? Amateur dog trainers usually charge around $400 to $600 per 6 week course. They do NOT offer specialized behavior modification methods. Imagine paying good money and then your dog is more aggressive, destructive, obnoxious, and disobedient than before.
Over 50% of the dogs we see each year have already been to large group training classes with an amateur dog trainer. Another 30% of the dogs we see each year have been to other private trainers or board and train programs, and in some cases have spent thousands of dollars on methods that just don't work. Training without a good foundation doesn't give reliable, predictable results.

We had a great experience at Front Range K9 academy. The process wasn’t always easy with our stubborn pup. There was a lot homework with a ton of repetition, but it was worth all the effort we put into it. Stevie is a great dog, incredibly well behaved, but absolutely couldn’t not be trusted off leash. She had earmuffs on when we would call her name. I love to trail run with her, but I couldn’t trust her to roam free (we had one scare and that was enough to revoke her privileges). After several weeks of private class with Jordan (with e-collar training) , followed by group classes with Meg, Stevie has shown drastic improvements in her recall and general off leash behavior. Her on leash etiquette has also improved and she stays in a heel (since not all trails allow for off leash). My trusty trail running partner sticks to me like glue, only strays when I allow her to gain a safe distance, and promptly returns when it’s time to heel. She can finally be a dog! (With established boundaries). I’d recommend these classes to anyone.

My dog Stevie responded very well to Front Range’s training. We’ve done group obedience classes with Meg and private classes with Jordan. We had great experiences with both. My dog is 6 and generally well-behaved, but didn’t always listen if she knew she wouldn’t be rewarded with a treat. I thought it might not be possible to break that habit, since she’s older, but the trainers gave us practical instructions that really worked. We can really see a difference in Stevie’s behavior, especially when off leash.

I attended K9 Academy's rattlesnake avoidance class with my dog, Josie, and was impressed by the professionalism of Jordan. She provided excellent instruction, communicated well, was friendly and polite, thorough, and focused on a positive outcome for my dog.

My puppy (a toy australian shepherd) and I worked with Jordan for the basic obedience and tricks classes, and have had fantastic experience and results with her. She is knowledgeable and skilled, and we plan on continuing with other classes that they offer!

If I could give this academy 6 stars I would! Very knowledgeable trainers, patient, and creative. Lots of followup written info too. I would never go anywhere else for dog training.
