Beyond the Dog - Dallas

I engaged dog trainers reluctantly because i feared harsh training procedures. Beyond the Dog allayed those concerns. immediately, using humane methods to which my willful little Siberian Husky, Lulu, quickly responded. I think she graduated with high honors. I would describe Megan as very effective and very kind. So much so that in the end Megan and Lulu bonded to the point that Lulu looked forward to Megan's arrival as a playdate. Great experience!

We can't say enough great things about Beyond the Dog training and our trainer, Megan! We enrolled in the all inclusive program for our German Shepherd puppy to learn basic training and advanced obedience techniques over a 5 week period. Our dog was particularly vocal in his crate, on walks, and at meal times. Megan was able to improve this in all areas and more, while helping us learn how to foster our puppy's success! Megan was incredibly helpful in teaching us how to become the best pet parents to our puppy and incorporate her training techniques into our daily lives. She was exceptionally knowledgeable, thorough, and responsive throughout the program and we hope to continue with Beyond the Dog's maintenance program as our puppy grows.

We have loved our experience working with Beyond the Dog! Megan was a miracle worker with our rescued/very reactive GSD, Luka, and our 5 year-old goldendoodle, Oliver, that also needed help with manners/reactivity. We couldn’t even have them in the same room together before we started training, and walking Luka at our apartment was very stressful. Megan was so patient with them and it has made a world of a difference for our boys’ confidence and our confidence walking them! We’re now all able to hang out in the apartment as a family and enjoy our walks around the neighborhood together. Luka has learned through positive reenforcement that it’s okay to be around other dogs, and it’s so rewarding seeing him not so highly anxious and stressed every time we go outside now. Megan is wonderful and sends very detailed notes about homework to work on before the next training sessions which help in the time between lessons. She’s very knowledgeable and able to adapt the training based off of the individual dogs. We are enrolling Luka in the maintenance program to make sure we keep up with all of the wonderful work Megan was able to help our boys with. Would highly recommend this program and Megan to anyone needing help with their pups! We are so thankful for how much difference we’ve seen in just 5 weeks!

If you're looking for a dog trainer for your furry family member, I HIGHLY recommend using Beyond the Dog! I can't gush enough about how great this place is! We were needing help with our new rescue dog, who had behavioral problems, and was struggling to find a good trainer. That completely changed after I called Beyond the Dog. Sean (one of the owners) answered the phone and, after I explained my situation, he made sure to ask me some more questions in order to understand everything better. I could tell that he actually cared about my dog's struggles. This was the first good sign! You don't want a trainer who will take your dog on before assessing the situation first; that can be dangerous. He was able to quickly pair me up with Megan, one of his trainers at the Dallas location, and WOW...the woman is phenomenal at her job. She's incredibly patient and knowledgeable about the different training techniques out there; the two most important traits that you want in a trainer. Another great sign! She also has this amazing ability to fully customize each training session to fit our family's current pet need/issue. If she notices something isn't clicking for your particular dog, she'll switch things up and try to approach it from a different angle/technique. This is exactly what you want from your trainer! Your family dog isn't a cookie-cutter pet who should be forced to work within the parameters of a cookie-cutter training session. He/she has his/her own unique mindset and interests; you have to find out what works best for them. Megan will help you do that! She also does a great job at explaining WHY she is using each technique and what her thought process is behind it. Even more good signs! Since we've started, I've seen such a positive change in my dog and I owe it all to Beyond the Dog; we would still be struggling with him if it weren't for their help. My family can tell that he's much happier too and he's even bonding with me (he seemed to be more friendly with males than females when we got him)! He has turned into a happy, playful dog and is finally settling in to his forever home! That wouldn't have happened without the ideas and techniques that Megan laid out. Thank you, Megan! I could go on and on about how great our experience has been, but this review is already getting long. Just know that there's a reason this place has such great reviews. Don't trust your furry family member with just any training company; bad dog trainers can make things worse. Side note: Seeing the way this company functions, it's clear that they take the time to properly vet their trainers. This is incredibly important for everyone's safety and is just one more reason why I trust them so much with my dog. So, if you can't get Megan, I would definitely try out one of their other trainers. The care that this company puts into helping their customers with their family pet is worth it.
