Beyond the Dog - Dallas

I called and spoke with a handful of dog training providers in the DFW Metroplex and after speaking with Sean with Beyond the Dog and reading reviews, I decided to go with them for help with training my 3.5 month old puppy, Teddy. Megan was Teddy’s trainer and I could not have asked for a better experience! I had no knowledge of training a puppy and Megan not only taught/trained Teddy, she also taught me so much to be able to stay consistent even after Teddy completed the program. She gives very detailed, easy to understand notes every week and is so open to explaining things in more detail when I would ask questions. Teddy went from knowing nothing and being very scared of basically everything, to now being extremely social, he walks great on the leash, he can do all the basic commands in the house or in a public setting with distractions. Of course he’s still a puppy so he’s not perfect, but with Megan’s notes, I can continue as Teddy continues to grow. We get compliments on how well he behaves whenever we meet strangers. I would recommend Megan a million times over and Teddy LOVES her!

Megan was great working with my puppy, Cinnie! She literally whines when Megan comes over because she is so excited to see her. She tolerates her triggers (especially dogs) for a lot longer and walks nicely on the leash. We have already referred Megan to another dog owner because the faith we have in her abilities. I could not praise Dr. Savage and her team more! Working with her protocol and one of her trainers, Megan, has been an amazing experience. My dog, Charlie, has severe separation anxiety and pica, which complicates things that much more. After 3 month of extremely expensive (and complicated) gradual desensitization training with a well-known CSAT company, he had made almost no progress and I was at a loss. Charlie still couldn't be trusted alone without me doing a time-consuming series of "warmup" steps and, even then, only for about 25 min and not reliably. I hadn't been able to leave the house in 7 months without hiring someone to watch him. But after just 1 very reasonably priced virtual consultation session with Megan, and a few weeks of following her recommendations (which were super straightforward!), he has made continual and consistent progress. Recently, we smashed 2.75 hours of alone time and he just keeps getting better! He's so reliably calm that I don't even need to check the cameras for the first 60 min, afterwards only checking in every 10-15 min. I've been able to stop relying on a babysitter just to live my life. Plus, Megan has been a real support through the process, answering my questions and providing me with the guidance I need to feel confident. Trust me: Anyone who is struggling to help their dog overcome any kind of anxiety or trauma should definitely go to Beyond the Dog. TLDR: Have a severely anxious dog? Skip the CSAT and call Beyond the Dog. You won't regret it. I promise.

A dog owner in my neighborhood recommended Beyond the Dog. We enrolled in the All-inclusive program which was worth every penny and more, especially because it came with Megan. Their training program is superb and is made more so by its intensiveness - frequency of sessions and repetition. Megan is incredible. She is not only delightful but extremely skilled, knowledgable, patient and mature. She not only trained our "spazzy" 14 month old labrador pup - but also trained us in the art of "proper behavior". I learned a lot about myself and my dog. We are sad that our sessions have come to an end and plan to continue with with some follow-up sessions for reinforcement.
