My wife and I brought our two six year old dogs here, an Australian Shepherd and a mutt. They both benefitted immensely from the GOAT program. Bill and Krista are amazing dog trainers and wonderful people. When we met Bill, he spent extra time asking some really thoughtful questions about our situation and our goals. Before the program even started, I felt that both Bill and Krista understood both of our dogs very well. We've worked with trainers before and nobody put in the time and care that Bill and Krista did. Both us humans and our dogs learned a lot, and we saw results surprisingly fast! We're thrilled to watch our dogs improve as we continuously integrate everything we learned from the GOAT program into our day-to-day lives. I cannot recommend this place enough!

I worked with Bill virtually for my two French Bulldogs who have a significant age gap and tend to act differently in our home when others are present, as well as outside of our home. I initially called with what I thought would be an obedience question (door manners/behavior), and ended up learning SO much more about my dogs along the way. Bill addressed the root cause of the issue (separation anxiety), and understood right away what I was dealing with. He made sure I understood the "why" behind the behaviors I was concerned about, and truly listened to every bit of information I gave. Dog training virtually may not seem like the easiest thing to do, but I can tell you with full certainty that I have seen better results than in person training would have given, because Bill was able to see our dogs behavior in their own environment, and easily diagnosed the issues at hand from a root cause perspective. He gave practical tips and actionable steps while being honest about the effort that each would take from both myself and other members of my household. I am so happy with what I learned about my dogs throughout this process, and I feel confident that I can help them through the issues at hand thanks to Bill's guidance. I don't think I would have seen the same results had a trainer come in person or had I chosen to take them to a facility for training. I cannot recommend Bill and Balanced Behavior highly enough!

I can't recommend Bill enough. The transformation in my dog has been incredible. Before training, we struggled with aggressive reactions to everyday situations, even something as simple as taking her collar off could trigger a negative response. Roxy is a cane corso and mastiff so she is strong and powerful. So her being unpredictable and uncontrollable was not an option. Walks, handling, and other routine tasks often felt stressful and unpredictable. Now, she's a completely different dog. She stops and listens, responds to commands, and is so much more calm and confident. More importantly, our relationship has completely changed. Instead of constantly worrying about how she'll react, I can enjoy spending time with her and confidently handle everyday situations without fear. The training didn't just improve her behavior, it strengthened the trust and communication between us. I finally feel like we understand each other, and it's made such a positive difference in both of our lives. I'm incredibly grateful for the patience, knowledge, and dedication that made this possible. If you're looking for someone who truly knows how to help dogs and their owners build a better relationship, I couldn't recommend him more.

If you’re feeling frustrated, at a loss with your pup, or like you’ve tried group classes and they just weren’t enough, I’d highly recommend checking out Balanced Behavior. We did their GOAT Camp with our Australian Shepherd, Gemma. It’s an 8 session program where we’d drop her off in the morning and come back in the afternoon. At pickup, Bill or Krista coached us on everything Gemma learned that day and showed us exactly how to continue the training at home. Before each pickup, we also had homework in the form of Bill’s YouTube videos so we could better understand what we’d be working on. One thing I really appreciated is that they never promised to magically fix our dog. They gave us the tools, but they also made it clear that we had to put in the work. We did, and I truly believe that’s why we’ve seen so much success. Within a few sessions, we noticed less barking, less whining, less jumping at the TV, and a much better understanding of routines and expectations. She also used to react constantly to dogs, squirrels, and anything else she saw out our windows. Now she rarely reacts at all inside our home. She even runs into her crate before we ask because she knows what’s coming. Before training, walks were honestly rough. Gemma pulled, barked, cried, lunged, and reacted to everything. Kids, bikes, dogs, squirrels, rabbits, basically anything that moved. Once she reacted, the rest of the walk was usually over because she couldn’t recover. Several months later, the difference is night and day. Is she perfect? No. She still reacts sometimes, especially to kids, squirrels, and rabbits, but now she makes better choices. She’ll even choose to walk on the opposite side of me to avoid a rabbit. When she does react on a walk, she can often recover within a minute or two instead of staying worked up for the rest of it. She LOVES training, especially if it involves tug. Every walk has become another opportunity to practice instead of something we dread. We also still bring her once a week for Stay and Train while we’re at work, which has been a great way to continue reinforcing everything she’s learned. The biggest difference has been Gemma herself. When we first brought her to my parents house for a visit, she peed in the house, tore up a rug, jumped all over people, and body slammed anyone sitting on the couch. Now my mom says Gemma is easily the best behaved dog out of the three dogs in our family. Don’t tell my brothers she said that 🤫. She lays quietly under the dinner table, doesn’t beg for food, and is genuinely enjoyable to have around. Bill has built an incredible program, and Krista has been an amazing trainer too. If you have a reactive dog, a high energy dog, a herding breed, or just a dog that keeps making you ask, “What do I do now?”, I’d absolutely recommend Balanced Behavior. Just remember that they can teach your dog and they can teach you, but you still have to put in the work after you leave. For us, it has been worth every penny. Thank you, Bill and Krista. Gemma still isn’t perfect, but she’s happier, we’re happier, and we couldn’t imagine where we’d be without everything you’ve taught us. Can’t wait to see how much she grows as we continue working with you.
