We are so grateful for the help and guidance we received from our dog trainer, Bill. We adopted a rescue dog who was struggling with resource guarding, and it was becoming a stressful and concerning situation for our family. We weren’t sure what to do or how to safely manage the behavior.
From the very beginning, Bill was patient, knowledgeable, and incredibly understanding. He taught us how to recognize the triggers, respond appropriately, and—most importantly—help our dog feel more secure rather than simply trying to correct the behavior.
The difference we’ve seen has been remarkable. I would highly recommend Bill to anyone dealing with behavioral challenges, especially with a rescue dog. He truly cares about the dogs and the families he works with, and we are so thankful we found him!

If you've ever been afraid to venture outside with your dog for fear of barking, lunging and other scary behaviors, see Bill and Krista at Balanced Behavior Dog Training Center.
I couldn't get my Australian Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix into the car even to go to the vet without planning it like a military mission. He barked at everything: Amazon trucks, motorcycles, dogs and assorted cars and neighbors started to avoid me. Instead of moving to the Outback, I decided to get some training for both of us. Speedy needed some structure and I needed to provide it. Bill and Krista's gentle guidance enabled us to make some amazing changes. They showed me how to help Speedy calm down and not scan constantly for impending threats outside. Speedy learned to heel and I learned how to walk him calmly and with more confidence. To my surprise, during his lessons, Speedy was able to quietly coexist with other dogs in the vicinity.
As a result, my dog and I have a much closer bond. He's ignoring vehicles and other dogs on walks and he rarely barks at the window any more. He loves car rides now and I can take him to see my 96-year-old mother and other places that I wouldn't even consider before. Our world is so much bigger now. We're both incredibly grateful!

Our dog Nova has changed so much since training with Bill and Krista! They did a great job guiding us through what Nova needed in order to get better at facing her reactivity and anxiety. The GOAT camp program really helped set a good foundation for her and helped us understand what she needed in order to improve!

We had such a great experience with Balanced Behavior Dog Training and trainers Bill and Krista! Our dog Gus Gus attended the GOAT program, and while he definitely learned a lot, I honestly think we learned even more as his owners.
Gus Gus had some separation anxiety and was reactive on walks. Neither issue was terrible, so we actually weren’t sure if he really needed professional training. We are SO glad we decided to do it. He has made such a noticeable improvement with learning how to settle on his own and he is so much better on leash.
What I really appreciated about Bill and Krista is that they didn’t just train Gus Gus, they taught us how to communicate with him and how to continue reinforcing everything at home. And that’s probably the biggest thing we took away from the program: you have to stay consistent. The training doesn’t end when the program ends. If you do what they tell you to do and actually put in the work, you will see results, but it really is a lifelong process.
We’re so happy we invested in the program and would absolutely recommend Bill, Krista, and Balanced Behavior to anyone looking to better understand their dog and build a stronger relationship with them!

Bill and Krista were amazing!! They were so knowledgeable about my dog's behavior and how to go about correcting it. I brought in Scout because of her anxiety and reactivity and now life is becoming so much more manageable. Bill and Krista helped me understand why Scout behaved the way she did and gave me hope that she could be friendly with dogs one day. After the GOAT camp, Scout has improved so so much and doesn't go nuts when she sees dogs anymore. I thought there was no fixing her reactivity but balanced behavior quickly turned that around. Scout is 4 1/2 so I thought training wouldn't be as easy as if she were a puppy, but my heeler loved going! She always had a smile on her face and loved getting put to work. I am so appreciative of the effort put into her training and I'm so glad I found this place. I highly recommend!!
