The Reliable Dog

My husband and I approached The Reliable Dog with our 7 year old dog who had some aggression/insecurity issues, especially with new people. Ian took the time to listen to our concerns before even booking a class to get as much information as possible. After a private lesson and a few simple exercises to work on, we attended 6 group lessons over the course of 6 weeks. We have had amazing results with our dog! We learned so much not just about his behaviors, but ours as well and what we all needed to work on. After completing the classes we were able to introduce our dog to my mother with zero issues! We learned just a few simple exercises (and the RIGHT way to meet someone new!) that helped immensely and by continuing to work with our dog, he gets better every day. I absolutely recommend The Reliable Dog to anyone that is looking for a trainer, we had, and continue to have, a great experience and results!

I will forever be grateful for the phenomenal job Ian did with my Golden Retriever puppy. She was given to me by a family who was unable to control her behavior. After a month, her puppy enthusiasm was more that I could handle too. Ian took her for a week long intensive training. Upon her return, he spent a couple of hours teaching me the commands he taught her and instructed me as I learn to work with her. Since the intensive training ended, Ian periodically checks to see how we are doing and I continue to use his professional expertise to provide additional training, and just a good workout to get out all her puppy energy. I highly recommend Ian. His skill and expertise has allowed me and my family to truly enjoy our lovable puppy.

I have a wonderful dog, but, he is a stubborn boy, and I have some walking difficulties. Ian has been amazing to work with, and I am comfortable and confident when I take Rufus out now. He has become such a well mannered gentleman. Not only did Ian do a great job working with Rufus, but also in guiding and teaching me to be an even better dog owner. Such a great trainer, and so easy to work with and communicate with. I look forward to more lessons with him! ...so does Rufus :)

Ian has a positive approach to dog and people training. He is responsible for my 7-month-old puppy’s happiness and good behavior. We look forward to our monthly lesson. Each one has been perfect for my puppy’s age and temperament and improved our time together. The balance of the time spent with me and with the puppy has taught each of us enough to practice till the next lesson. I chose Ian for puppy training because he gave valuable tips about a friend’s adult dog that pulled on the leash when I walked him. Ian was successful, I think, because he took time to get to know my friend’s dog before offering any advice. Ian has been very responsive with follow-up emails and answering my questions.
