The Modern K9 dog training

We highly recommend Corey and The Modern K9 Dog Training! We are relatively new owners of a 3-year-old, mixed-breed rescue who was in the care of multiple fosters and even a kennel since the age of 4 months. While it was clear that Brody is bright, eager and a super loveable dog with lots of energy and likely had some previous training, it was inconsistent and he needed structure. He pulled badly on a leash and showed some reactivity to other dogs. When we talked to Corey before boarding, we were impressed with his knowledge and the confidence he provided that we could train a 3-year-old with engrained habits. Brody entered Corey's two-week on-leash board and train program and came out a much more confident dog. With Corey's training and his in-depth turnover lesson, both Brody and the family now better understand how to communicate with each other. Brody is walking now and not pulling or sniffing at EVERY tree! Yesterday, we ate lunch at an outdoor restaurant with another dog at the next table and Brody was fantastic! Sure, he still needs corrections but Corey has equipped us to deal with that and now it's up to us to be consistent for Brody. Thank you to Corey for being so responsive and for making us feel comfortable and confident! This training is an investment.

I sent my 1 year old Great Dane to Corey for the 2 week board and train and so far the results have been amazing! She went from a 120 lb dog pulling me down the sidewalk to walking right by my side now. Corey is very responsive and sends pictures throughout the whole process. My dog came back from the board and train more confident but there will always be more work to be done on the owners side of it and Corey is very helpful through all of it! Highly recommend the modern k9!

If you need a dog trainer or a board and train, look no further than Corey. Our dog, Luna, is a working line GSD. If you know anything about them, you know that they are prone to being incredibly headstrong and energetic. She was horrible on leash and pulled like no other, even just taking her to the bathroom was quite a task. Her energy was unmatched and she really did not understand how to relax inside the house. After two weeks with Corey, she is an absolute pro at walking and we have learned how to get Luna's energy out in a productive manner. He really laid down a great foundation and gave us the tools necessary to help her succeed. It's clear that Corey knows what he's talking about and will gladly take you step-by-step and answer any questions you may have. As long as you take the training and instructions that Corey has recommended seriously, you will have a very well-behaved dog! She did so well, we even got her a little grad cap for "graduating" her board and train (see below).

For anyone considering a board & train program or just dog training in general, I cannot recommend The Modern K9 enough. Corey, the trainer, is extremely knowledgeable, personable, responsive, and dedicated to dogs and owners alike. I sent my 11 month old Corgi puppy, Moose, to stay with Corey and his family for the 2 week board and train program, and the results were unbelievable. Prior to training, Moose would bark incessantly, was not well behaved, and had major issues with his confidence. It was extremely stressful taking Moose to new places or around new dogs. I thought I would be able to handle the situation through YouTube training and online forums, but they did nothing to help with Moose's behavior. After finally deciding it was time to get professional help with Moose, I reached out to The Modern K9. Corey kept me updated the entire way through training, and was extremely thorough with the turnover lesson. I also want to note that training is only effective if you are willing to be a dedicated pet owner. If you follow the steps Corey clearly outlines, you'll be successful in reaching your goals with your dog. My relationship with my dog went from being a major stressor in my life to being one of the things I look forward to most. My dog now listens much more attentively, has so much more confidence, walks right beside me on leash, and (thankfully for my sanity) rarely barks. Also, the prices for training are extremely reasonable against comparable services in the area, and you are 1000% getting your money's worth. Corey really helped me strengthen my relationship with Moose and the training has been worth every penny a thousand times over. I cannot thank him enough for everything he has done, and I highly encourage anyone interested in training services to reach out.
