The Modern K9 dog training

The Modern K9 truly changed our life. Our 1 year old mixed breed, Ruby, would get so overexcited around guests that we couldn't have people over without it being a huge hassle and embarrassment. As new parents of a baby, we also knew that we needed to know that Ruby would listen to us, no matter what the situation was. We originally hired a different professional trainer who came to our house for training sessions, but nothing seemed to work with Ruby. I finally decided that we needed something more than hourly lessons, and I heard about Corey/the Modern K9 from a neighbor. Sending Ruby to the Modern K9 was the best investment we could ever make for her and for us as a family. Corey is so thorough and walks you through everything he is going to teach your dog and the reasoning behind your dog's behaviors. For those of you who are apprehensive that your dog will be fully trained with Corey, but then revert to their old behaviors at home... I hear you. I was very concerned about this myself. However Corey has multiple lessons with you and your dog after they come back home with you. You'll learn how to ensure their behavior doesn't decline/revert back to their old habits. We were also concerned that with all of this training that our dog wouldn't be a dog/still be her lovable self... but Ruby still loves her never ending cuddles! I would highly recommend Corey/the Modern K9 to anyone who is interested in either training their puppy from the very beginning or to address problem issues. You will not regret it!

I was apprehensive of sending my dog to a board & train- she is six years old and (in my opinion) mostly perfect! But her on-leash behavior had gotten worse since her knee surgeries, so I did some research, read reviews, talked with Corey and decided to go for it. Penny came back with her same happy go lucky, playful personality (losing it was my biggest fear). She is maintaining the skills she’s learned at Modern K9 and has been able to walk without lunging and barking at passing cars/people. Corey has been responsive with my questions post training and provided me updates throughout her board and train stay. I look forward to continuing learning from Corey and taking my pup out to many more places with her new on leash skill set!

The Modern K9 completely transformed my 1 year old dog Scott in a matter of 2 weeks through their board & train program. Scott is a highly energetic English Springer Spaniel and although he has a sweet personality, it was impossible to have him in the house outside of his crate with two young kids at home. He also was impossible to walk on a leash since he would pull and jump the entire time. Corey redirected some of Scott's energy into focusing more on mental stimulation. He is now calm and attentive while in the house. The kids can play with him without him getting worked up and out of control. We are able to take him on walks and he stays right beside me the entire time without pulling or jumping. Corey truly helped us get Scott to a place where he is a joy to be around. Corey was extremely knowledgeable and very helpful even before we got our puppy. The decision to put an eight week old puppy in a one week board and train program was not an easy decision but after speaking with Corey, we understandstood that the earlier you start training the better our dog will be. Corey was very responsive to questions I had while Malone was training with him. He sent us videos and text messages on how she was doing and never once did we feel we made a bad decision! It’s very important to our family that our Rottweiler has the manners and model behavior! We are confident in our puppy and Corey’s training that Malone will thrive in any environment she’s in now and as a full grown adult dog. Malone learned so much over her one week Board and Train puppy program, that we can’t wait to see what she learns in her continued lessons and future board and train programs.
