The Modern K9 dog training

Corey did an awesome job training our excitable 7mo puppy through his two-week board and train program. She is now so responsive to our commands, which has improved both of our qualities of life! We love taking her places knowing she will be at ease and within our control. In addition to improving her walking etiquette, Corey has truly helped her be an easier addition to our home overall - minimizing bad habits (jumping, barking, biting) and providing an effective way for us to communicate with her in general. We are so thankful for the strong foundation Corey has established for us and our dog, and are looking forward to the happy life she will have with us as a result!

Corey is amazing! We were struggling with our 8 month old Golden-doodle that picked up some bad habits(jumping and barking). We did weekly dog school with minimal success and were thrilled to find a local trainer. In three weeks Corey had our boy set-up for success and took the time to break down how we can continue to support his training. Corey even took the time for an impromptu lesson the day after we picked up our pup to reassure we were practicing correctly. Additional follow-up lessons were equally beneficial and have allowed our family to truly enjoy our puppy! I highly recommend Corey for all your dog training needs!!

After about a year of having her, my 2 year old rescue still struggled with impulse control and hyper-excitability, no matter what I tried. In 2 weeks time, Corey helped her become a more confident and obedient dog, and also gave me the tools to more clearly communicate with her and continue to help her learn. She's a different dog now, in the best of ways. Corey is great at what he does and clearly cares about each dog's well-being and success.

If you live in the Ellicott City/ Baltimore area and are interested in having a dog trained, this is by far the best place to go. I did a lot of research on dog trainers in the area, and The Modern K9 dog trainer has the best reviews bar none. Even still, I was nervous at first because I didn't know if Henry (my beautiful but very energetic dog) was going to be able to be trained, but that went away almost immediately after meeting Corey and looking at the daily videos and pictures he posts along the way. It is very apparent that Corey has a great understanding of psychology, applied behavior analysis, and dogs in general, and easy to see why he has the best reviews. Since the dogs are with him for two weeks, they are trained in a variety of places and the skills they learn are generalized in most settings. As long as you follow the instructions that Corey gives you in the owner's training sessions, it will be the best money you spend on your dog. Do yourself and your dog a favor and call them if you live in the area and are interested!

When we brought Coco to Cory we were wondering if we would be able to keep her. As a rescue she had a lot of behavioral concerns and it was becoming stressful. When we picked her up from her two week boarding we were so pleased with the results! She knows commands, she listens, and she is MUCH less leash reactive. We also realized that we needed training as much as she did and Cory has been great at walking us through that! Very pleased with the experience and would HIGHLY recommend him to everyone with a pet.
