Allyson and the DogDen literally saved our sanity. She is an absolute professional and has a genuine passion for her work with dogs. Our boy, Thando, went from being a rambunctious, headstrong puppy who only listened when he felt like it to a well-behaved, responsive, and happy dog. Thando has always had a big personality—he’s playful, energetic, stubborn and a little sensitive —but Allyson knew exactly how to work with him. She took the time to understand his unique temperament and tailored her training accordingly. Her patience, persistence, calm demeanor and positive reinforcement resonated with him. It took a little bit of time to engage with him at first because he was young and sensitive. After he settled he was eager to please her. It was incredible to see how Thando responded to her training techniques. Tasks that once seemed impossible—like walking calmly on a leash, sitting when asked, stopping him from Jumping up on people, staying and waiting in place, even from a distance, and coming when called (which was a very important task for him and us due of his love of running far to explore when free) All tasks have now become second nature to him. We can even take him out to a restaurant, put him in place on the floor with lots of action around him- like other people, Dogs and food, he stays on his mat like a good boy! He is such a pleasure to take anywhere now.I even take Him golfing with me. He sits in the cart annd waits while I tee Off and will run along side the cart and jump back in while I’m stopped. Amazing! Allyson not only trained him but also taught us how to maintain his progress, ensuring that her hard work would continue to pay off at home. When Thando returned home, he was still his same sweet, playful sensitive self but with much better manners and a stronger bond with us. It’s clear that Allyson genuinely cares about the dogs she trains, and her experience and dedication show in the results. Our young lab recently spent time at The Dog Den, and it was such a relief to know he was in great hands. Allyson and James took wonderful care of him, and the updates they sent made us feel so much better about leaving him. Benny came back happy and more behaved thanks to their training! When we first got our Doberman puppy, we had a tremendously hard time with her energy and behavior. Ally is absolutely the best dog trainer that we have worked with. We saw so many improvements with our super enthusiastic, high energy Golden Retriever pup, after sending her to Ally's board and train program. Ally and her husband show so much passion and commitment in training every single dog. They are patient and do not hesitate to spend extra time educating us and answering all our questions during cross training sessions. Throughout the course of the board and train, they send regular updates in the form of pictures and videos. This really keeps us going, while our pup is away. Our little Amber enjoys being around Ally and her husband and that reflects on the amount of love and affection she was showered at their place!! We are extremely satisfied and certainly go back to Ally for future training and boarding.
