South Central Texas Dog Boarding & Training

After my husband entered home hospice care it became clear that the situation was completely unfair to Willow our Australian Cattle Dog. She was confined 8 hours a day. I exhausted all rescue possibilities in the Houston area. A good friend told me about South Central Texas Boarding and Training and Paul Holzhauer the head trainer. A phone call and he accepted Willow! Willow was in her element and with Paul’s patience and training in a few weeks she was so happy and able to be rehomed! She is currently training with her new family and doing very very well!! I am so grateful to Paul and his facility. He saved many lives!!

Paul is very professional and an experienced with dog trainer. You can tell he enjoys his work and being with the dogs. He trained our Irish Setter puppy Guinness and he is on the way to becoming a very polite dog. As Paul stated it is as much training for the dog as it is for me. Paul is very knowledgeable and answers any questions. What is nice is that Paul is available for questions by phone or text. We will be taking advantage of day lessons and future play days at the facility. I highly recommend Paul for training.

Our experience with South Central was everything I’d hoped for and more! My pup Luna was a wild card and extremely strong, which made it difficult taking her to public places and even taking a simple walk around the block. Paul changed our lives! I can now enjoy taking Luna for walks, kayaking, and even a hiking adventure from time to time. I was a little worried leaving her but I knew it was for the best and Paul was right- discipline and strong guidance is exactly what Luna and I needed. Thank you so much for helping us get behavior modified and making my life easier. I will definitely use SC when I travel for work. The energy on the farm is exactly what the doctor ordered.

What a great experience we had recently boarding our sweet baby over the Thanksgiving holidays! Facility and care top-notch! She had a fantastic time, and we never had to worry for a second – Paul was so considerate and stayed in contact and sent many pictures! While she was there, Paul did a wonderfully thorough evaluation and started with a little training – what a difference! We will be bringing Wookie back in the spring for an extended stay and full training. Highly recommend!
