I brought my dog to South Central Texas Dog Boarding and Training, after this facility was highly recommended to me. I live in Houston, and I have a large breed, young male Catahoula Leopard dog who I rescued from a shelter. I desperately needed some help training my dog! When Mango arrived for training with Paul, he was essentially unable to control himself or his own energy. He was never able to fully rest when we were at home. He would pace around the house and chew up things that were not his. He would chew on people's hands when they tried to pet him. He would jump up all over people and scratch them up, tear their clothes, and get them dirty. He would jump all over the furniture too. Sometimes he would accidentally beat me up, just trying to play with me or show me affection. I constantly had his scratches all over my forearms. Mango exhibited general anxious behavior. I was walking him up to five miles a day, trying to help him exert his energy, to no avail. If he got off of his leash, he would run from me and not return upon hearing his name. Sometimes he would even act aggressively to other animals while I was trying to walk him. Mango spent five weeks training with Mister Paul. I cannot emphasize enough, how beneficial this experience was to my dog, and to my relationship with my dog. Allowing this training for Mango is the best thing I have ever done to help an animal. Ever. The results are tremendous! Mango can now control his own energy, and he is more aware of himself. There is no pacing, no biting, no chewing, no doggy anxiety anymore. Paul helped to socialize Mango with other dogs, so he does not attempt to dominate others anymore. When I have him on a leash, he is completely under my control and does not lunge at other dogs. I have the freedom to let him off of his leash and know that he will return to me when I call him. Mango no longer accidentally beats me up because of his brute strength. He is much more controlled in his physical body. Mango is truly much happier now, and obviously so am I. I chose to bring Mango to Fayetteville because I thought that the setting was very important. I preferred to have him trained out in the country, rather than locked up in a facility in Houston. Paul's training facility is beautiful and outdoor, and it was the perfect place for Mango to learn to redistribute that anxious energy he had. If you are thinking about having your dog trained by a professional, I encourage you to speak with Mister Paul. He is a true professional and very knowledgeable and easy to speak to. His love and expertise for dogs is quite evident, and Mango loves him! Mango is back at this facility currently, being boarded while I travel. Mister Paul continues with Mango's training while he is being boarded there. It is like an added bonus, to brush up on all of his hard work. There really is nothing as rewarding and peaceful at home, as a well trained dog.
