Sky Soldier Dog Training

My wife and I have Kona, a 3-year old standard goldendoodle that has multiple triggers. Chasing delivery trucks was the scariest, but he also barked incessantly at other dogs, motorcycles, children, and bike riders. Oh, I can't forget squirrels and rabbits. Walking was impossible because I couldn't control the environment—other dogs, people, children, and other triggers. Positive reinforcement failed to control his triggers. Months and months of frustration led me to Brandon. BTW, we had multiple dogs, including other doodles that were controllable with positive reinforcement. Training started with a prong collar and teaching me proper correction techniques. With Brandon's teaching to both Kona and me, behavior improved. However, squirrels were still an uncontrollable issue. Picture a large dog chasing a squirrel across the street and up a tree. Brandon recommended an e-collar. With proper instruction, I learned to correctly and consistently correct unwanted behaviors. Squirrel chasing has diminished. He still stares, whines and barks, but he's clearly less reactive. Delivery trucks are also safe. Dog walking has also improved but is still reactive to triggers. I understand that it will require time to improve. Brandon's 5-week program was a game changer. Pre-Brandon, "sit" and "down" could only be done with treats. Now, Kona often responds to verbal commands and remains in the down position more frequently, even when faced with triggers. Brandon exceeded my expectations. I did not expect perfect behavior after the training sessions, but the improvement that we have seen is simply amazing. We are clearly moving in the right direction. Sky Solider Training not only trains pets but gives dog owners skills and guidance to utilize with their pet. I adopted Shadow from APA and experienced reactivity issues with other dogs and humans. I have owned several dogs in the past but Shadow was a bit of a wildcard, for he would be happy go lucky and then react suddenly to humans with little or no warning. By clearing setting expectations and guidelines thru Sky Solider's basic obedience training, Shadow negative choices/behaviors subsided greatly with timely and appropriate rewards and consequences. Brandon encourages positive reinforcement while clearly showing that appropriate consequences for unacceptable behavior are necessary and effective over time if consistently applied. After completing basic obedience, we did an additional session with a shock collar. Brandon showed me how to use the collar not just as a consequence but as a training tool as well. While Shadow has become a pleasure to walk and his reactivity has greatly diminished, I always have the collar on in case a poor choice is made, for he has shown that in his past history. Shadow has gone from a pet that I did not know if I could keep, to one that I plan on having for the rest of his life. With that said, it takes time and reinforcement and Brandon was key is not having me rush Shadow into situations that would promote poor behavior as well as keeping in mind it takes time, practice and patience with a firm, loving hand. Put in the time and work with Brandon and your pet, and you will see positive results.

Board and train was a excellent choice my now 6mth old male lab. We left for spring break and I decided "what better time to send the pup off for training than when we are gone". Brandon did an excellent job with Goose. He has a very solid "place" understanding, walks great on a leash at a "heel", came home with better kennel manners, and has a solid foundation in place for us to build on. I highly recommend Sky Soldier for your canine!
