Sit Means Sit Dog Training - Western Chicago

We have a Boxer puppy that we were struggling with basic commands. We googled dog training places and was referred to Sit Means Sit. I reached out and spoke with Kerry who was so nice and very informative on what our expectations with their training should be. Our home visits with Sarah were great! She’s such a kind and patient trainer. She really took the time to explain the process so we can practice in between visits and boy after that first session Harleigh was coming when called and stopped barking at my daughter when told “quiet”. That was good enough for me. But Sarah taught us how to walk her on the leash properly, sit, heal and do 360s. Still a work in progress but we’re very happy with the progress Harleigh has made so far! We took her to the camper this weekend and she actually stayed on our campsite off a leash!! I would highly recommend this company and Sarah was a great trainer and a really sweet person. Can’t wait to attend classes and learn more!

I am forever grateful for Kerry and her wealth of knowledge. My boys were already senior dogs when I reached out in attempt to correct some behaviors that I had not been able to manage despite all my tactics, including leash pulling and dog reactivity. The dynamic between my two dogs was also a challenge, with separation anxiety an issue, as well as my alpha having bad influences on his younger brother. From day 1, Kerry was attentive and informative and I was particularly appreciative with her response time and patience, as well as never feeling rushed- she is always truly present and thorough. We quickly were able to join group classes, which in itself was a milestone. The opportunity to learn, practice, and socialize my dogs was a huge contribution to their improved behavior. Most recently, I have had the pleasure of adopting another senior dog and Kerry was the first person I called to assist with the integration into the pack. I wanted to make the transition as comfortable as possible for all the dogs and there is so much conflicting information and advice out there, I decided to enlist Kerry because every bit of direction I had received from her in the past worked- not to mention she knew my dogs and their quirks. Even on short notice, without hesitation Kerry went above and beyond. Her time and expertise was invaluable, helping put everyone at ease and her feedback and suggestions were extremely helpful. I highly recommend Kerry and her team. The scope of their work is expansive, and if you are a pet parent willing to invest the time and energy in training yourself for the sake of everyone's happiness, commit to their system and be astonished of the changes.

Sit Means Sit has been a life saver. We have a 3 y/o mix who was overly affectionate and stubborn. I spoke to Kerry and told her what we were looking g for and she scheduled home lessons very quickly.. it is incredible how quickly their methods work. In one week it was like I had a new dog. Our trainer was Sarah who did such a wonderful job working with us and pointing out where to correct our human behavior in order to see results out of our dog. In the house our dog is learning her place now and is not constantly in the way and will listen when we give direction, which has really changed our dynamic with her in a very positive way. Walking her was always a hassle and she pulled and barked the whole time. In the last few weeks I have taken her to the woods to let her run and it is a great feeling to know her recall is going to work. We attended our first group class and Kerry was able to tighten up on things we were struggling with in no time, i.e. heeling when in public and keeping our dogs attention around distractions. I cannot recommend Sit Means Sit enough and look forward to the weekly group classes to continue honing in our dog's manners.
