Sit Means Sit Dog Training - Western Chicago

My mother paid 1500$ for her dog to be trained in November 2021. The deal was she got only 4 one hour home visits and a year of group training. She apparently signed a contract but was never given a copy of anything. She did receive 4 - 1 hour BASIC classes that basically were the equivalent of a day at petsmart training class. There was supposed to be group lessons to follow but she was told that the church that was holding the classes fell through and she was to wait till March so they could do outdoor classes. She has not received any information from the company since or any follow up. I called the company to get her a refund for the remainder of the money and because my mother was taken advantage of I was upset. The owner of the business was rude and not willing to give me any information stating that there was in fact group classes and why didn't my mom look on Facebook. My mother is 72 and was never told she had to look on Facebook and she was waiting to hear from the company as that when the group training started. She paid good money for dog training and received practically nothing. When I spoke to the owner she said she has classes but refused to give me the dates and address so my mother could attend. She then called my mom and told her she could refund only 300$!!!! So basically this women is a crook and a liar and takes advantage of older ladies. A refund of only 300$ would mean my mother paid 300$ PER 1 hour of training ?!?? I think not!!! She would have been better off going to petsmart. STAY AWAY from this terrible business!!! *THE REPONSE BELOW IS A TOTAL LIE!!! MY MOTHER IS NOT HAPPY AT ALL!!! SHE 100% WAS RIPPED OFF AND SHOULD GET REFUNDED!!!

I’ll start off by saying It’s a great group of people, however, my pup didn’t need basic training. It was much more then that. I explained the issues, I was told board and training would be best, $3200.00 & 3 weeks of it, I thought it would help but reality it made issues so much more worse for my pup. I took her to see a specialist, a behavioral veterinarian, evaluations, blood tests and screenings later she has what I expected, a mental disorder. Prong collars, zap collars, etc just decreased the chances of my dog getting better. I don’t think sit means sit is a bad company, it’s a great company, but for dogs that need “obedience training”. Before deciding what is best for your dog & spending an AMPLE amount of money, have your veterinarian evaluate them . My pup is NOW going through therapy and the difference in her is a MIRACLE !
