We never imagined that we’d have a dog, let alone a puppy. But when ~8 week-old lab mix Ellie found us, we couldn’t say no but knew we were in for a ride! After a few weeks we knew we wanted to do training and were completely lost as to where to go or whom to trust. Evan at Scarlet K9 was recommended to us by a number of people in the Perry Hall area and after just our first conversation with him, we understood why. He was extremely knowledgeable, accepting of ALL of our questions, and willing to help us determine which of his services best fit our situation. We decided on the 3 week off-leash board and train. We received picture and video updates during her stay. We had phone call updates discussing her progress. He advertises full transparency of what he does and followed through with that promise. Ellie has completed her program and after only 2 days home, her progress is unbelievable! It is amazing what Evan was able to accomplish with her during only 3 weeks. She has gone from a crazy, nippy, jumpy puppy to a much calmer, well-behaved dog. We know that we will need to continue working with her training at home (she is still a 6 month-old puppy, after all!) but are so happy with how far she has come already. Evan came highly recommended by the lovely Amanda Mohr, owner of Mohr Paws to Please pet sitting services. After reaching out to Evan and sharing our concerns, we immediately felt a comfort level with him. You will be amazed by his wealth of knowledge, it's impressive. Evan is professional, confident, patient and kind, however he does not sugar coat anything! Our 1 year old English Bulldog, Romeo did a Board & Train. During his stay, we received daily feedback via text, a phone call with an update on Romeo's progress and also addressed diet, along with pictures and video's. Evan was always available if we had a question or we were just missing our Romeo. Three weeks is a long time, however it was well worth it! We can definitely see a big difference in Romeo's behavior. We still have some work to do at home, but that's to be expected. Like us, if you're struggling with diet choices for your dog, talk to Evan about nutrition. It's a real eye opener! Before we even got our puppy, we talked to Evan about breeds, temperament, & training. We signed up for a puppy board/train & then did another session when our puppy was about 8 or 9 months old. Along the way, Evan has been available to talk us through our questions or offer advice, and we have tried to follow his advice to the letter. As a result, our puppy is calm, confident, and well adjusted, with a solid recall. We cannot thank Scarlet K9 enough for the happy, peaceful relationship we have with our pup.
