Julie and Christine were awesome. We signed Murphy up for the Puppy Social program for 3 weeks and the difference from the first day to the last is amazing. He now has the confidence and knows how to appropriately play with other pups. He was excited to get there every day and you could tell Christine and Julie were happy to see him everyday. Next time we have puppy needs we would go back to them in a heartbeat. Thank you two for taking such good care of our puppy!

I truly cannot say enough great things about the Basic Manners for Puppies group class at Rocky Mountain Dog Training! Julie was extremely knowledgeable and great with the puppies. She shared her time between all the dogs and always knew how to make a command simpler if a dog wasn’t getting it. Every class built upon the last, which made it really easy to teach the puppies harder commands by breaking them down into smaller tasks. You also get handouts and videos after each session for reference throughout the week. We will certainly be signing up for the level 2 class at RMDT!

The folks at Rocky Mountain Dog Training are superb. They stay updated on the latest science backed research regarding dog training and the experience we had was amazing. The instructor, Julie, is skilled and capable. During class she will pick a dog at random to use as an example, and within less than a minute that dog will be learning whatever command she is introducing and following her lead. Julie’s ability to read dogs and, more importantly, their owners, is well honed and professional to say the least. Each class begins with a review of last week’s class and then a personal inquiry about what has been going on at home, followed by a set of solutions and strategies for improvement. You are basically getting one on one, customized training for your puppy at a very reasonable and cost effective rate. Even after the first day your dog will quickly be on its way to learning the basics and you will be well equipped to teach them more advanced commands. Even if the class were double or triple the price it would still be worth it! For example, after only a few weeks in the class, my pup and I were in a public area and she slipped her collar and was sprinting towards a crowded road. I immediately used her “emergency recall” command that we had been working on in class and she immediately came back! In that sense, this class is invaluable. After the 6 week course, it felt like I had a completely different dog, and we are both excited to continue the lessons we were sent home with! You will also receive advice about the latest research into canine medicine and nutrition, meaning the advice and instruction you’re getting is comprehensive and far beyond the description of the classes on their website!

Money well spent!! I recently adopted a new puppy after losing my 15 and 14-year-old dogs. I forgot how much work a puppy is and how exhausted I would be. I work from home, and the 5 hours per day my puppy was in school was the only way I could get any work done. I admit that was my primary motivation for enrolling Penny in the Ultimate Puppy class, but I was pleasantly surprised that she actually learned things! They worked on basic commands and behaviors and puppy socialization. She came home ready for a marathon nap every day. Julie and Christine are both calm and gentle, and their love for dogs really shows. I knew my puppy was well cared for. I chose to add on 2 weeks of the Ultimate class, and I'm glad I did. We really saw her training emerge in those weeks. There is nothing negative I can say about RMDT. I highly recommend it!
