Pawsonal Training

There aren’t enough adjectives in the world to describe how WONDERFUL this training program is. We sent our 5 month old miniature Bernedoodle, August, to the 3 week obedience training. Prior to training, we were at our wits end with August. He struggled with anxiety, reactivity, and “aggression”; also showed very early signs of resource guarding. He bit numerous people including family, his vet, and the groomer. It was incredibly stressful to take him places. We started to fear we’d never be able to socialize safely. Fast forward post training… August is an entirely different dog in the most extraordinary way. He is still goofy and fun, but now more loving, gentle, and well mannered. It is a joy to be around him and to take him places. He has been groomed, bathed, and pet with zero issues (even with some enjoyment). We take him hiking, on walks in busy downtown human traffic, and are able to leave him with family (& other dogs) for weekends. We are frequently stopped while out on walks, to ask about his training & manners. We will forever recommend Shannon, she is GIFTED and incredible at what she does. The love she showed (and continues to show) for August was very comforting. Yes, it was PRICEY however it was truly worth every penny. It is a long term investment that has yielded the BEST possible return on investment 🥰

This review is a bit delayed, but…Beau (our 15 month, 86 lb Golden) spent 3 weeks with Shannon in Jan-Feb of this year. Beau has tendencies toward ADHD and would not, could not relax outside of his crate. He also has very little interest in food/treats as a reward. Beau was also a “puller” like no other! He actually pulled me across my yard on my stomach and broke my finger trying to greet a neighbor. We initiated training at 8 weeks and went through 5-6 other trainers before Shannon. All were at a loss on how to proceed and recommended medications to help him calm, listen, and learn. Unfortunately, the medications just made him drowsy. Shannon was our last ditch effort and I am so grateful we found her!! Beau came home a different dog; in a good way!. Unfortunately, Beau became very ill after he was home (nothing to do with a Shannon or the training!) and we were at a standstill with his transition home. Shannon laid down such a strong foundation for Beau that even though we had to wait 3-4 weeks before we could implement his training at home, he still remembered his commands and (mostly) listens. He will actually lie down and nap during the day and has learned to relax. We were even able to reduce his medication and hope to discontinue it soon. Thank you Shannon! We will definitely use you for boarding and refreshes in the future.

Years ago Shannon had trained my first stubborn American. Bully Rev….. fast forward…. I never thought our paths would cross again but what an amazing opportunity for me when they did. Clutch is every bit of a bully which are challenging on their own but add anxiety, impulsiveness, constantly on the go and a relationship issue with another dog in the house to the stubborn bully and I was at a loss. Shannon took the challenge without hesitation! She spent time identifying and addressing each of Clutch’s “challenges” at the root causes. She tested her and tackled things head on. She taught her and me so much all while communicating open and honestly. While I am glad Clutch is back home I am ecstatic with the change in her. She now has the tools to be the best she can be! Ready to start traveling with Clutch and Shift. And the other dog that she didn’t like in our house…..so far she doesn’t even care she is here! Thank you so much Shannon you gave me back not just hope but results. And she maintained her same quirky personality!

I’m happy to provide a strong recommendation for Shannon and Pawsonal Training. Our 20 month old golden retriever had some basic training at 3 months but had forgotten or chosen not to follow commands. With three cats also in our home, we’d resorted to keeping our puppy leashed or crated in the home and really wanted to improve the situation for her and all of us. I saw a Facebook post from Shannon and contacted her to learn more. She was incredibly responsive and supportive and we made plans for our pup to board and train with her while we were away. She picked Chloe up at our house and worked with her diligently for two weeks. Her dedication and passion for dogs is evident. Chloe returned home tonight and already it’s clear that her listening and behavior have improved tremendously. It’ll take lots of reinforcement but Shannon spent several hours carefully explaining and practicing commands and approaches with us, demonstrating the use of the e-collar and making sure we were comfortable. I feel like we’re now on the right track to a happier household for everyone, thanks to Shannon. Highly recommend!
