Off Leash K9 Training Lexington

Terrible experience with Lexington K9 Offleash training. I paid for the 2 week aggressive dog board and training after talking to Dan, who assured me my dog lacked confidence and they could help fix it with the aggressive dog package. For starters, the trainer chip was supposed to pick my dog up on a Sunday and I didn’t hear anything from him that day until I texted him and then he called me to say he forgot. Scheduled drop off at their site in Lexington for following Monday and Chip showed up 25 minutes late. Also returned my dog a day earlier than he was supposed to and without his leash. The evening my dog came home and the next day he exhibited the exact same behaviors I sent him to training for. I had to contact Dan to schedule “refresher” courses the day after my dog was home. I’ve followed all their instructions and it’s obvious he didn’t receive the training I paid for. My dog and I are back to where we were before training. My dog does walk great in a heel position now. That is the only thing the trainer seemed to accomplish. My main concerns are he snaps at people and other dogs and I have only had him home for 3 days and nothing has changed in those areas. The day I picked my dog up, Chip went over all the commands my dog was to now follow and except for the heel command, they were all commands he already knew. Anxiety riding in the truck was a big one I wanted help with and there was no training on that at all. I paid for expert professional services and received sub par results with my dog from a part-time dog trainer. This was an extremely disappointing experience and I wish I would have not put my dog through it. For the money I paid, I shouldn’t have to schedule “refresher” classes the day my dog came home.

We have a 6 month old rescue pup that needed basic training. She is an anxious/ timid girl, so we were having some trouble doing it ourselves. We decided on the 2 week board and train package and are so glad we did. Chip was very caring and professional and kept us updated throughout the stay. She came home a much more confident, calm, and easy to correct girl. We are very excited to continue the great work Chip started for us! It would have been very difficult to make this kind of progress ourselves especially in such a short period of time. Worth it if you’re considering!

Absolutely excellent experience training my dog with Pat! He was patient, knowledgeable and had a huge range of experiences coming into our lessons. I know more about my dog and myself after just a few short weeks with him, and my dog and I are much better off because of it. Pat has taught me the value of patience and I have developed a closer bond with my little coyote-dog as a result. Even if you THINK you have trained your dog on the basics, he knows better than anyone else what will work for you and your pup, and what you need to work on! I must have trained my own dog myself for three months before I came to him and I was blind to what I needed to improve before moving on to more difficult exercises. The payoff was worth it! I know for a fact that I have put my faith in the right person and can’t wait to see the results of the combined hard work of all three of us! I cannot recommend this facility, and specifically Pat, enough.

I went into this experience very excited to get expert help for my dog's reactivity. I saw reviews for people saying their reactive dogs were now able to be around other dogs and even play with them, and while I never saw an end result for my boy playing with other dogs, I was hopeful for him to be able to remain calm in the proximity of other dogs while on walks or in public spaces. We also went into the class with some basic obedience down: holding a sit/down, and some heeling. I understood the importance of making sure the basic obedience foundation was solid, but after 5 of the 8 sessions I was hoping to have worked around other dogs more by that point, like the Aggressive Dog Training package described. For the 8 weeks we only worked around another dog once, which definitely wasn't enough to make good progress. Our training also took place over 5 months instead of 2 due to trainer illness, which is understandable, but this left large gaps between sessions and although we kept up our practice everyday in between, what I was really looking for was the supervised training around other dogs. I enjoyed the time spent with the trainers and investing this time in my boy but I was really disappointed with the outcome of everything and the amount of money spent to really only get obedience training and not the reactivity training I was looking for and was promised. If you go in for reactivity training I would be extra vigilant to ensure you get that time training around other dogs!
