Off Leash K9 Training, Chicago

I can’t thank Alyssa enough! She did such an amazing job with my now one-year-old Catahoula Leopard Dog, Waylon. He’s truly a new and improved version of himself! Before I sent him to the two-week board and train with Alyssa, every day was a battle. Waylon didn’t listen, he was super stubborn (but so smart!), struggled with resource guarding his food, struggled being in the crate at night and was terrible on the leash. But now, he’s a totally different dog. He listens to me, doesn’t pull me every which way on walks, sleeps peacefully in the crate and we’ve been consistently working on the exercises Alyssa showed me to manage his resource guarding. I finally have my goofy, cuddly boy back but now without the worry of him getting out of control. I can’t express enough how grateful I am. Thank you so much, Alyssa! I highly recommend Alyssa to anyone considering training for their dog. Waylon isn’t the easiest dog to work with but he loves to work, and the progress she made with him in just two weeks is nothing short of amazing. She also sent daily updates showing how he was doing in her care, and she was incredible at teaching me how to continue everything once he came home.

My wife and I brought our 10-11 month old dog (German Shepherd, Burmese Mountain Dog, Pitbull, + others mix) for the two week board & train program. Our dog trained with Carson, and we could not be happier with the results! Carson is extremely polite, professional, knowledgeable, friendly, and awesome with dogs! He gave us daily written updates on our dog's progress, as well as pictures and videos to let us see our dog's progress. Carson answered any and all questions we had, during the two week board & train, as well as during the pickup. He was very patient with us, and made sure we were comfortable with the commands and corrections to keep our dog's success going. Having our dog home now, he's still the same playful pup, but with a great foundation of training and structure. Prior to the training, he used to pull constantly during walks, and/or he'd get distracted by wildlife (bunnies, squirrels, birds). He'd also show some reactions to other people (such as growling or barking). Now, after the training, it's an absolute joy walking with him. He'll "heel walk" exceptionally well. When free-walking, he walks with slack in the leash and ignores almost all distractions. In our home, we have another, older, dog, and our young dog would often rough play with older dog, nipping at his ears and head/ neck, and we previously couldn't separate them easily. Now, after the training, our young dog quickly responds to commands or corrections, as needed. These are exactly the outcomes for which we hoped! We are extremely grateful for Carson and Off Leash K9 Training!

Lydia is a miracle dog trainer!!! George Washington, our 9 month old cavalier, was paired with Lydia for the two-week board and train. George is a hyper- active puppy who loves everybody. The problem? He jumps up on people to get attention. He even knocked my 1-year-old granddaughter down while she was trying to pet him. That’s when I decided to send George away for the two-week board and train. The George Washington that came home after his time with Lydia was the same fun loving rascal. But the command “place” along with the door manners Lydia taught him, have given George the structure he needed to focus on me and what I am asking of him. He is actually much happier because he knows boundaries and expectations. And all the credit goes to Lydia! Because of the outstanding training George got from Lydia, we are now able to get him certified as a therapy dog to visit children in hospitals. The best thing we ever did for George and our family is take him to K-9 Off Leash Training. George won the lottery when he was paired with Lydia! And by the way, Lydia is also good at training owners. 😊

Thank you Carson and Alissa! I truly appreciate all your help and guidance with my French Bully, Ricco. I'm so glad I chose Off Leash K9 Training—it's been the best 8 weeks! Working together has really helped Fred and me better understand our new family addition. Ricco is doing 100% better, and we're excited to keep building on everything we've learned. I am so thankful for Carson and Off Leash K9! I did the two week board and train for my 3.5 year old dog with high anxiety and reaction to social triggers that resulted in panic running and leash pulling (he even pulled my arm out of socket by running when spooked by a garbage truck). Since our reunion, I no longer dread walking my dog and have comfort in that Carson taught my dog coping skills to keep he and I both safe. Daily updates with pictures and videos assured me that my dog was not only learning a lot but was well cared for and loved by all of the trainers. Carson has even followed up since training to check in and answer some of my follow up questions. It has been well worth the money for my dog and I and I can’t recommend Carson enough! Thank you!
