Off Leash K9 Training, Chicago

My wife and I would highly recommend Off Leash K9 Training. We worked with Carson and his team who were very knowledgeable and responsive to our questions with our dog, a Pit Bull/ Pharaoh Hound mix. We appreciated their flexibility in booking appointments as we wanted to be part of the 8 week training program, and my wife and I have inconsistent schedules. If one day did not work, every effort was made to make another arrangement. We brought our dog in for reactivity and negative behavior, especially throwing tantrums (barking, jumping, biting the leash) when another dog would be in the vicinity. Our classes concentrated on our dog’s needs, as opposed to a “blanket, cookie cut” course. The classes included some command training as well (sit, down, come, heal.. see attached video). We are especially happy about the last few sessions where we would have our dog training with other dogs around to act as a distraction (a final test of sorts). We are very pleased with the outcome of the classes and have a great foundation to continue our training with our buddy! We, as the owners, also have more confidence and peace of mind!

I had an incredible experience with Off Leash K9 Training, and I can’t recommend them enough. My dog Whiskey, a 2.5-year-old husky/rottweiler mix, has always struggled with situational decision-making around other dogs. Carson was amazing from day one—patient, consistent, and genuinely invested in helping Whiskey learn how to slow down, think, and make better choices in the moment. Throughout her training, Whiskey picked up a wide range of new commands and skills, and what impressed me most was how confidently she carried them forward once we brought her home. The training truly stuck, which was the most encouraging part for us. She’s calmer, more focused, and noticeably more responsive in situations that used to trigger her. Carson also took the time to explain the “why” behind each lesson, which helped us reinforce the training properly at home. The communication was fantastic—we always knew what Whiskey was working on, how she was progressing, and what to practice between sessions. Beyond the behavioral improvements, we’ve seen Whiskey grow more confident and comfortable in everyday scenarios that used to be stressful for her. Walks are more enjoyable, her recall is sharper, and she seems genuinely proud of herself when she nails a command. Off Leash K9 Training exceeded our expectations, and we’re so grateful for the care and expertise Carson put into Whiskey’s training. If you’re considering structured, effective, and lasting training for your dog, this is absolutely the place to go.

What an incredible experience we had with K9 Training and specifically with our trainer, Alyssa. Our australian labradoodle, Banks, has always been such a fun, loving, happy-go-lucky boy, but his hyper-activity around other dogs and people proved to be a bit cumbersome. After our two-week boarding and training experience with Alyssa, our Banks can now enjoy himself on walks in the city and at parks across Chicagoland. I cannot recommend K9 Off Leash or Alyssa enough!
