North Star Family K-9

I have a 2 year old mixed breed who was quite reactive on leash with any other animals and people. After 2 years of trying to find a trainer around me and none of them working I decided to go to K9SF. What hooked me was the amazing reviews people left and it seemed like they could handle dogs like mine. We did the consultation and after they determined that a 3 week board and train would be the best fit. During the process he gave me daily training notes and yesterday we were able to pick up Charlie! It was a such a great feeling comparing the two dogs, the one we brought there and the one we left with. We are finally able to go on walks with her and excited to train with Milo and his team in the future!

I am so happy!! I went through two training programs with Octavia and it did not work out. I got her for a two week training boarding and let me say this after the two week training and going over that time period with her trainer Sarah (she did have more trainers that did amazing with her!) I saw so much progress and she had so much confidence in herself! I am so happy I waited it was so worth it! They put so much work into it and make sure to always keep you updated on how the training is going and also send some cute pictures of your dog as well!

K9SF, specifically Sarah and Milo, are caring and real animal professionals who take what they do seriously. We had gotten a German Shepherd / Rottweiler rescue dog who initially was the sweetest dog. Within 5 weeks, the dog quickly became reactive and extremely aggressive/protective towards people approaching us including family members whom he had already met. The problem was getting worse and worse and quickly becoming dangerous as he had intent to bite and not back down. At the 2 month mark, we reached out to K9SF and Sarah was quick to set up a video consultation to discuss our issues and how to move forward. Sarah was flexible and had her and Milo come out late evening after their shift (7:30PM!) to meet Bear and give us advice. It was obvious they were knowledgeable, confident, and helpful in what they observed and gave it to us straight. They could have easily tried to sell us on training classes that would have costed thousands but instead were blunt and told us due to many unfortunate factors, it simply was a dangerous dog that belonged only in the hands of an experienced trainer or to be humanely euthanized. We returned the dog to the rescue and passed on the information to them to let them decide what would be best for the dog. Even though it didn't work out how we wanted it to as we absolutely adored our dog, K9SF told us what we needed to hear and not what we wanted to hear. I trust Sarah and Milo to the fullest extent and cannot recommend K9SF enough! I would definitely trust them with anyone's dog for whatever they may need.
