New Hope Dog Training Center

I have a Jack Russell Terrier named Benny. Gene took him at 3 months for 21 days. Benny is a year old now and he’s the best guy to hang out with. He listens.. It’s not like hanging out with a drunk friend. Gene and Berk did their thing for 21 days and then they gave me three training sessions so they could also train me. It really was an awesome experience. I had a lot of anxiety about leaving Benny at 3 months old for 21 days. Gene picked up on it and put me completely at ease. He gave me a tour of the facility which was very nice and told me a lot about himself. It was easy to see that Gene loves dogs and takes his work seriously. I really enjoyed meeting Gene. I would definitely encourage you to take your puppy to Gene and Berk. Thank you Guys!!

Greetings. We are enjoying the benefits of having taking our dog, Chutney to New Hope Dog Training. Here is our story. We came to searching for a quality training school when our son who is 6 asked us why are you disciplining me all the time when you don’t do that to our wild dog who is 9? Kids say the darnedest things. Other trainers saw Chutney’s age and said there is no point. However, Chutney’s continued stubbornness, pulling while walking, jumping on people, inability to stay for extended time when asked to stay, and running for the door after it rings along with our son’s question pushed us to find someone who can properly train Chutney. The team with the artist known as Gene and his truly able assistant, Berk, worked with our dog, Chutney, who never had training before till the age of 9 here took up the challenge. They disproved the axiom that “you can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” Chutney now listens to our commands such as sitting, staying, and is starting to walk properly without pulling. Complete shocker and such welcome news for us. But it is not just the training. The school lines up zoom lessons after the training to properly train us as owners. However, with our busy schedule that went for a spin with a funeral, we weren’t able to attend them. They worked with us to reschedule the sessions and really helped us to truly benefits from the lessons and be proper owners to Chutney. It was greatly appreciated with their flexibility and their promise that they were a phone call away if we ever need assistance in the future. We trust the team at New Hope Dog Training Center with our current dog and future dog for proper teaching and learning. As Gene said, the dog “will learn what is in the contract” between the dog and you. Two thumbs up!

Our two dogs, Millie and Billy have become good canine citizens after attending the New Hope Dog Training Center. They have much more polite leash manners, act more appropriately around visitors and strangers and they know to go to and stay on their dog beds when it is time for a break or a time out. We continue to work towards polishing their abilities to follow through with commands with greater environmental distractions using operant conditioning techniques that we learned through this program. Today, both dogs politely walked around a horse pasture without disturbing the horses, which is a great improvement. Thanks so much Gene and Berk!

I was skeptical about sending my 5 year old Goldendoodle away for 3 weeks of dog training . Well, let me say, Winston is a totally different dog in a wonderful way. He does not jump on people when they enter the house, he no longer jumps on furniture and when we go for walks, I no longer need to use a harness and get pulled around the neighborhood. The transformation is incredible. Gene and Berk are fantastic. I have learned so much, not to mention that my dog has too. Don't have any doubts about this team. They are dynamic and you will be very pleased. Take a little vacation while the dog is away. You'll be glad you did. Thank you for making Winston a great dog!
