Mountain State K9 Academy

1. Boarding prices do not include ANY time outside the kennel space even if booking is for 6 days. Time out of their "cell" costs $17/day/dog. 2. One of our two dogs came home with extreme diarrhea and sneezing and her "report card" indicated she had no digestive issues. 3. We were charged an additional $10 for not bringing food in an approved container. 4. We had asked if our two dogs could "room together" and were told only if they feed well together. We have never tried feeding the together in a confined space and don't think it wise to have dogs in a stressful, unfamiliar situation forced to eat together. Our dogs consume their food in about 3 minutes but apparently having them separate for a total of 6 minutes a day was too big of an ask. 5. Both dogs (Huskie mixes) panted heavily for hours after picking them up. Our assumption is that the space is not climate controlled and precautions are not taken on days reaching around 100 degrees. 6. All of these matters were presented to the facility yesterday and we were told the manager was gone for the day yet as of 1PM today, we have had no response. Note: We have utilized Mountain States for training and found their trainers both talented and caring. We will not be utilizing their boarding services again. UPDATE: Mackenzie Radzik, General Manager, did respond defending the practice of keeping large dogs in a 4'x15' area for days on end - which she considers ample room. She mentioned that ceiling and industrial fans are used when deemed necessary (though the website mentions "climate controlled" which google defines as "air conditioned".) Further she said the additional fees are clearly outlined on their website which at the time of this review, is not true.

I want to give MSK9 a huge shout out for the following. My dogs looked healthy, they still had their shiny coats, they weren't shedding all over, they smelled just the way they did as I left them which is important because that tells me the kennels are cleaned unlike other places I've boarded in the past, they seemed relaxed and they looked happy when they brought them out. I boarded with them for 8 days. The staff was pleasant and informative, the facility is clean, they have indoor and outdoor kennels which is important with our GSD. Prices are fair considering they are about the same as others, but the care was by far better than all the other places I've used. They came recommended by out Vet whom I also love. I boarded our small Chihuahua and very large GSD. They placed them next to one another in the runs and they have beds for the pups to lay on. Thank you for caring for my pups and making our time away less stressful for them and for us.

I was looking for a high level boarding and training academy for my GSD, when I had my initial consultation with Cole I was impressed I had visited a couple other training facilities but I just wasn't feeling the comfort and professionalism that I felt with Cole needless to say my GSD felt comfortable with Cole from day one. MSK9 Academy not only worked with my dog they transformed him into a great obedient dog. I couldn't be more happier with the results. Thank you MSK9 Academy and more so thank you Cole you and your team are simply the best. Diego will live out his life a much better dog and so will I. I highly recommend MSK9 Academy to anyone who what's to get the best out of your family pet. There is no better place than MSK9 Academy for your dog training.
