Does modern dog training have board and train program?
Hi Mike- We do not provide nor recommend board and train services. The board and train setup is extremely ineffective overall; the dog will of course respond to the trainer but it is highly unlikely any success will carry over to everyday life at home or for the guardian. The most effective training option is always private in-home lessons. In this setup, we work together to teach the guardian how to effectively manage and communicate with their dog. We caution against any type of board and train for safety reasons. There are many facilities and trainers that can endanger and/or otherwise cause harm to your dog both physically and mentally when you are not present.

I haven’t had a puppy since I was a kid, and I definitely needed a refresher. I contacted A Modern Dog for some much needed help! I Instantly felt Kristen’s calm and friendly demeanor. She is so knowledgeable, and great with fur babies and their parents! I came out definitely feeling more confident in my abilities and more connected with my new puppy! Absolutely recommend!!

After getting a 4 month old pup who we THOUGHT was a black lab, ended up being a half pit half German Shepard, we weren’t ready for the athlete we got…Then We got bubbles… our pit/coonhound who was filled with anxiety& resource guarded. We were desperately in need of help. Kristen & Kelsey came to our home, taught us how to read our dogs signals , what to do and not to do and helped us teach them some basic commands . Our house wouldn’t be as peaceful as it is now without them.
Can’t say enough about this business and their staff !!! The trainers are sincere and thorough and it’s not just a job ‘n they want to train the owners and it is our responsibility. To ensure our dogs 🐶 have the tools to succeed and starts with us I am greatful. For them and would highly reccomend them
