Man & His Mutt

UPDATE 2026: It’s time to leave another update about how incredible Alex and the Man and His Mutt team are! Alex has continued to make such a dramatic difference in Betty’s life. This weekend we took her to a crowded farmers market and she was able to actually enjoy herself! We ran into friends and hung out for a bit, and they couldn’t believe it. They’d never seen her so calm outside of our house. Keep in mind there used to be times if she heard a car or too many loud street sounds she would relieve herself in fear because of her anxiety and noise phobia 💔 We’re so grateful he and his team are in Betty’s life. Training, walking, sitting, he and everyone on his team are seriously the best, and I can’t believe how much Betty has grown in the last 2.5 years! She’s been able to experience the world so much more. 🥹 2025: Alex is amazing!! We’ve been through two previous trainers for our anxiety and fear filled pup. Working with Alex we’ve made more progress than we ever have. You can tell he’s passionate specifically about training fearful and reactive dogs, and I’m so happy our Betty has been able to conquer some of her fears, slowly but surely. I can’t recommend him highly enough!!

We had a great experience helping to train US - to be able to train our puppy Elliott. Alex was awesome - we talked about what our priorities were as a family (minimizing jumping, puppy biting, leash behavior, recall, car anxiety and introductions to other dogs among the top ones), and through the 6 lesson package - I feel like we learned a lot about how our dog thinks / why he behaves the way he does / what cues he take from us. It was great to have trained dogs to interact with Elliott so we could learn what behaviors to look for - in a more controlled environment. We also even started doing some scent work for gluten detection! Alex was great, personable, knowledgable, and willing to listen and really help work with us and our dog - not just a generic generalized plan of checking the boxes. Highly recommended!

Jake is the trainer we worked with for 6 sessions. Our dog Maddy is VERY excitable and also reactive to other dogs/animals. We’ve learned so much in every session and have gained all the tools we need to continue our on-going training. Jake is the sweetest guy you’ll meet, our dog is crazy go nuts about him, and we felt very understood and supported the entire time. He also let us train our dog with his two dogs during a few sessions which was extremely helpful. We are a much happier and healthier family thanks to Jake’s assistance. Thank you, Jake!!!!!

Alex has been amazing at training our 4 year old rescue who had no prior obedience or behavioral training. He's been very accommodating to the reactivity issues our dog has and personalizes training to the needs of the dog. He also does amazing with walks when we need them and sends great updates and photos after each walk! Alex has gone above and beyond and I highly recommend him, especially if you are working through difficult behavioral issues with your dog.
