Kodiak K9 Training

I seriously can't say enough good things about Megan and what she did with our lab puppy, Hope. We sent Hope to her for a 3-week training program — she was only 12 weeks old at the time! — and the difference when she came home was unbelievable. Hope came back calmer, more focused, and already responding to commands like sit, place, come, house, and more. It blows my mind how much she learned in such a short time, especially being so young. What I loved most is how much Megan truly cares. She sent us daily videos and updates, shared tips, and really made sure we felt included in the whole process. When she dropped Hope off, she spent over an hour walking us through everything and showing us how to keep up the training at home. You can tell she loves what she does and is so good at it. If you’re looking for someone who’s kind, professional, and really knows what they’re doing — Megan is it. She’s seriously the best!!

We had an incredible experience with Kodiak K9! Our 6-month-old Weimaraner, Sedona, recently completed a 2-week board and train program with Megan—and we are beyond happy with the results. Before training, walks were a challenge. Sedona would constantly pull on the leash and be completely distracted sniffing everything. Now, he walks calmly by our side, and walks have gone from frustrating to genuinely enjoyable. Megan also helped reinforce his basic obedience—“sit,” “stay,” and especially “place.” We used to joke that Sedona was a Velcro dog because he had to follow us everywhere, even when we were just doing chores around the house. Thanks to the place command work Megan did, he now knows how to relax and stay put until released. It’s made such a difference in our daily routine. Megan was also amazing about keeping us updated while Sedona was with her. She sent regular updates, thoughtful videos, and clear breakdowns of what she was working on, which really helped us feel connected during the process. Even better, we still use the videos as reference to make sure we’re being consistent at home. We truly can’t recommend Megan and Kodiak K9 enough. The progress Sedona has made is amazing and we feel so much more confident as dog owners now. If you’re considering a board and train, you won’t regret choosing Kodiak K9!

Kodiak K9 was such a great experience! Our 1.5 year old Corgi, Lola, had some resource guarding issues, as well as jealously, and was awful on leash. Not to mention very bossy and would bark at everything. Lola's behavior was not getting better as she got out of the puppy phase which we thought it would, and it was actually getting worse. We were recommended Kodiak K9 from a friend of mine, and were paired with Megan. She did absolutely AMAZING with Lola, and after two weeks it was like living with a whole new dog. She had a much calmer demeanor as soon as she walked into the house, and she didn't bark at any and everything anymore. She listens better and is actually the example to our older corgi, Jack Daniels, which I NEVER would have imagined. She still needs a little help in stimulating surroundings or with other dogs near, but she has only been home for a couple weeks and I know these will just take a little extra time. Megan made sure to send us videos and pictures almost daily, and it was great to see her progress in real time. I could not recommend Kodiak K9 and Megan enough. I think any dog can benefit from training with this company, and we are implementing what we learned with Lola with Jack Daniels as well. We are so proud of our little lady!

Megan did an amazing job with my 7 month unaltered Shikoku! He was an absolute terror who had me and my husband at our breaking point. He would pull on the leash during walks, refuse to potty on walks or when let out on a schedule and would mess in the house. He would counter serf, react aggressively towards the vet, people walking by, and any other animals. He would cry all day in his crate and mess in the crate and then tackle our cats to the ground. The only dog friend he had was his older female sister Shikoku. Ren returned to my husband and I a different dog! I was expecting the same ren, with mild behaviors but I was returned a gentleman! He heels on walks, up the stairs, he comes on command, he sits/ downs on command and STAYS. He stays on his cot in place. He doesn’t try to bolt out the door, he leaves our cats alone. And most importantly- he POTTYS ON COMMAND. Megan alleviated my mental and emotional load and showed me ren is capable of listening and structure. I’m so proud of the both of them and their relationship and I’m eager to build on the foundation he now has. I’m thankful that she’s given both of us the opportunity to give ren a full life with minimal stress, one that everyone deserves! We will be back for business with our female Shikoku ❤️
