Kandid K9 Dog Training

We recently did the board & train program at Kandid K9 for our 1-year-old Labrador retriever, Kobe, and honestly… he came back a new dog. Before sending him, we were pretty much at our wits’ end — he’s the sweetest boy, but the energy, the pulling, the jumping… it was a lot. Kobe came home happy, confident, and with manners we didn’t think were possible at this stage. His leash walking is night-and-day better, he’s not jumping on guests anymore, he actually comes when he’s called, and he’ll drop things he shouldn’t have without a struggle. It’s like we have the same lovable Lab… just the well-behaved, upgraded version. Josh and Ali are exceptional — patient, communicative, and genuinely talented trainers. As a dog lover & owner, I know that some of you reading this review might feel uneasy about sending your dog away with people you don't know personally - but trust me - it is so worth it!

The best investment I’ve ever made in my life. I recommend Josh and Ali’s training for any dog, young, old, good, or troubled. My one-year-old boxer, Frank, is now absolutely dialed. Frank’s drive and independent demeanor was challenging—and despite being an experienced dog owner, I couldn’t get this sweet boy to reliably recall. After an 18-day board and train Frank came back sharp. Heck, I think this dog can pick locks now. And following a few fun one-on-one sessions with Josh, my handling skills went up 1,000%. Now, I can walk Frank anywhere perfectly…without a leash. I can’t thank this team enough for giving my family years of future fun hiking, backpacking, and enjoying the outdoors with Frank. He’ll now get the life a dog deserves. I don’t say this lightly, the experience and service is completely life changing. I’m never getting another dog again without working with this team.

We can’t say enough good things about Josh and Ali! If I could give them more than 5 stars I would. Our Golden/Great Pyrenees/Newfoundland mix got to a point around 11 months old where walks became really stressful and even dangerous. He was super frustrated on leash when he saw other dogs. I did a ton of research and even met with several other trainers in the area before choosing them, and I’m so glad we did. We primarily communicated with Josh, and from the very beginning I was blown away by his knowledge and the way he explained things. I’m a behavioral therapist for kids, so I understand enough about the science of behavior to be picky about who I was going to trust with our dog, and Josh really knows his stuff! He has a talent for breaking down the science of dog training in a way anyone can understand. Our dog went for a 3-week board and train. Ali and Josh were amazing with communication while he was with them. They sent regular updates and videos, which was such a relief. More importantly they spent plenty of time working with him on real life scenarios that we encounter—like navigating barking dogs at the pet store. Our dog came home happy (my biggest fear!) and with completely different behavior on leash. He can now walk past other dogs calmly and even ignore them, something I never thought would be possible. We feel like Ali and Josh genuinely care about us and our dog and want us to succeed. The follow-up support and private lessons they offer as part of their program is honestly priceless. We finally have the skills to understand our dog, and we’re so grateful! We can’t thank them enough!
