Kandid K9 Dog Training

We had such a great experience with Kandid K9 Dog Training! We enrolled our dog, Sage, in their board and train program to help with her reactivity toward other dogs and her habit of jumping on people, and we’re so happy we did. Josh and Ali were amazing to work with. They didn’t just train Sage; they took the time to teach us how to continue the training at home so we could be consistent and set her up for success. They explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and made us feel confident working with her. One of the best parts has been their support after the program. Josh and Ali have been available whenever we’ve had questions or needed a little extra guidance, and that has made a huge difference. We’re so proud of how far Sage has come, and we’re really grateful to Josh and Ali for all of their help. We highly recommend Kandid K9 Dog Training!

Just take your dog there! You won't be sorry. I researched for months, met with three trainers before them and I "fired" all three. Two yelled at me, one over the phone. I felt like a terrible dog owner. Mind you, my pup has no behavioral issues, just needs extensive obedience training because she is signed up for therapy dog school next year. However, I have had three special needs dogs before her, so can completely understand the training needs for these dogs and Josh and Ali would be perfect for these dogs too. When I talked to Josh over the phone, he made no assumptions about me or my dog and was so kind, positive and welcoming. I sent her to the "day camp" for two weeks, but also see the great benefit of the board and train. What sets them apart though, is the lifelong commitment to my pup. Unlike every other trainer that I researched, once you are done with the board and train or the day camp, Josh and Ali will then meet you at your home and places you often go for additional training. After that you graduate to Saturday group classes that they hold every Saturday and all is covered under the initial cost. And they get you ready for the AKC Good Citizen Test. Really... you cannot find that level of commitment from any other trainer (I looked). What I also really appreciated was that they tailored their training to me and my dog. She is super "soft" and they didn't force anything on us that we were not comfortable with, which all of the other places did without even meeting us. Also, in every Saturday class, Josh has a quick session of behaviors that she will need for therapy school. I cannot thank them enough.

Josh is fantastic. He trained our crazy Sheepadoodle who was impossible to deal with. Lunging at anything that moves. Passing cars was an impossible task, even in the car she lunged at any car that passed us. Barking and wild from a pup. She came back a pup that could heel, no lunging anymore and over all a much calmer pup that I can now walk. Josh went with us to the vet and groomer to work with her where she was totally out of control before. I have confidence now to take her anywhere. He is very devoted to his training and continues helping wherever needed. I absolutely recommend him and Ali. So happy we found them. I sent my butternut for training and she came back as my buttercup. So happy

Five stars is not enough. We sent our dog to Kandid K9 for a month-long board-and-train to address severe leash aggression and trauma-based behaviors. The transformation is nothing short of a miracle. ​The communication during his stay was fantastic; we loved seeing the frequent video updates of his breakthroughs. We now have a dog who obeys every command and remains perfectly calm in public around his old triggers. ​What has impressed us most, however, is the support after we brought him home. Josh and Ali have checked in frequently and are always available to offer additional guidance and support as we navigate his new life. It’s clear they truly care about his long-term success. Hounds are known to be challenging to train. We were really in need of help with one of our two Columbian Fino Hounds, Dory, who is very spirited and strong-willed to say the least (and also hilarious, sweet, and a bit timid). We initially chose another training company that has very high online reviews and a specific method of training. It became apparent that this approach was not effective for our girls, especially Dory. I had an idea in my mind of what I wanted: a customized board-and-train program followed by at-home sessions to educate us so we could continue to reinforce all the girls learned. I was thrilled when I found Kandid K9. We had a consult with Ali and signed the girls up for their Canine Campers Program. We loved receiving the regular updates during their stay, seeing all the progress they were making, and noticing how happy they were. This was very reassuring given Dory's more timid nature. Once they returned home, both Josh and Ali did follow-up home visits to help reinforce the training and continue to educate us. We now attend their group classes to help hold ourselves and the girls accountable. Our only regret is that we didn't get the girls to them sooner. The biggest wins: Josh and Ali have helped us learn to communicate more effectively with the girls in a transformative way. We now enjoy walking them because they walk well on leash (quite a feat for scent hounds) and greet people and other dogs more appropriately. We receive compliments regularly on how well behaved they are. To top it all off, Dory and Maisie have really taken to Josh and Ali and their methods of training and are always extremely enthusiastic each time they see them. We highly recommend Kandid K9 and Ali and Josh for highly effective, customized training. The care, attention, and energy they dedicate to their work and their clients shows, and we are grateful to be on the receiving end.
