Hey Eric, this is Cam, the owner of K9aholics Dog Training. This review is very disappointing for many reasons, but I mean what I’m about to say from the bottom of my heart. When you leave a review that isn’t true or is missing important information, you’re doing people more harm than good. We are one of the most experienced and reputable dog training companies in the Hampton Roads area, and when people read this, it may lead them to someone who is not as reputable or experienced, which is never good for the dog. Leaving a review should reflect the true experience with a company. Unfortunately, Google allows people to write whatever they want. But here’s the truth. Feel free to call or text me if anything I’m saying here is false. Dog training isn’t black and white. It’s not like getting your vehicle fixed. This is a living, breathing animal with a mind of its own. Some dogs excel quickly, while others require more work. However, it is very important that the program is completed, and that the go home lesson is done. That’s where we teach you everything and set you up for success when your dog returns home. The follow up lessons we offer are also very important, so if something goes wrong, we can fix it. You chose not to complete any of that. You did not finish the program. My trainers texted you multiple times asking if you were going to return, but there was no response. We thought you may have moved or had a last minute change at work, so all communication was left unanswered. The go home lesson wasn’t done, nor were any follow up lessons completed. No one could get in contact with you, and then we see a one star review about your dog’s reactivity. There’s another major issue. We don’t typically allow split payment options for our day training because we don’t want situations where people stop showing up, and that’s exactly what happened here. The final payment was delayed because we couldn’t reach you, and fortunately, we were able to charge the full amount. This is the exact reason we moved away from split payment options for this program. We are here to help, and we stand by what we do. If everything had been completed and you were still unhappy, I would have gladly refunded you. However, you didn’t even finish the program. Reviews like this can really impact small businesses. We are extremely willing to help. It just requires patience. We don’t train dogs through fear. We train them to create clarity. And for some dogs, that takes longer than others. But how can we fix something if we can’t even finish the program? Go home lessons and follow up lessons are included in the program. This is a bummer and unfortunate. Update: Eric, thank you for your response. You could have shared this with us during the many times we tried reaching out, but it seems this is the only way you’re willing to respond. It’s a four-week program, not a three-week program, for a reason. I wish you had completed it. I’m confident you wouldn’t be writing this review if you had.
