K9 Obedience Training

I just finished my 8 week basic obedience course with Larry Leogrande at K-9 Obedience Training, and looking back over the eight weeks, I cannot get over how much my dog learned! He had some skills when we arrived, but was unpolished and inconsistent. Larry takes his job seriously and has a very organized and accessible approach to lessons. He starts the lessons by asking what questions or problems we may have encountered during the week and then gives pointers about how to approach those. Afterwards, he starts with notes about what will be covered in the day’s lesson and the steps for accomplishing those goals. He demonstrates to you with your dog in hand and then coaches you through your training, to be sure you understand how to ask your dog correctly for the commands you are teaching. At the end of the lesson, you get a preview of next week’s class, opportunity for questions again and homework. In following this system, my dog learned to master his impulsivity and follow commands successfully. My pup looked forward to all his lessons and was very excited to get going once we arrived at the door. I wholeheartedly recommend bringing your dog to K-9 Obedience Training if you want to help your dog effectively learn how to behave and maintain that knowledge. Working with Larry for the past 8 weeks has not only been beneficial for our puppy, but for us too! Larry addressed every concern we had going into training and followed up with her progress over the course. He tailored the training based on our girls needs and focused on the parts where we needed the most support. Larry is so passionate and knowledgeable about dogs and it shows! I highly recommend Larry for all of your dog training needs. I know that our girl is going to miss seeing him every week, and so are we!
