K9 Obedience Training

Larry is a 10/10 trainer. I didn’t think anything would help my stubborn dachshund but Larry taught us both so many new things, and even gave us a routine to follow after our classes were done. Oliver (my pup) developed major aggression issues and Larry showed me how to correct him and help his confidence but he also helped mine! Oliver also struggled with reactivity. Bikes? Other walkers? Little kids? Anyone who walked by us would become a victim to his incessant barking. I can now walk him and he has zero reactivity, we can walk by anyone with no issues. Bandit and I worked with Larry for 8, once a week, 1hour sessions. Bandit is a 9 year old large (over 100 lbs dog), with a lot of spunk. My main problems with him was being pulled when walking and the occasional taking off after a cat or rabbit. I had lost confidence in being able to walk him at the park or even in the yard. After the first lesson I was able to start walking him with more confidence. I felt more secure and he stopped the pulling almost completely. Larry taught us calm, positive techniques that made sense. Larry was patient answered all my questions, and gave us easy daily exercises. I feel so much more confident now. Bandit has been to Lowe’s, Tractor Supply, many local parks and we even took him camping. This whole experience has allowed me to be much more in tuned with my dog. He is much smarter than I ever thought. Who said you can’t teach an old dog new tricks! We will continue with the training maintenance and refer to Larry if questions arise. Highly recommend!

I grew up with several dogs and had never done any type of formal training before because I never needed too, I was always able to do it myself… until my wife and I got our 1 year old Corgi. She was a dog that was in need of a home. Came from the Amish and then bounced around a few different places before she settled with us. We also have a 4 year old Aussie who had never done any professional training just because she didn’t need to I was able to do it my self so naturally I thought I would be able to do that with the corgi. I was wrong… we tried house breaking, basic commands and even walking on a leash and nothing was working so we got desperate because now we have a 6 month old baby crawling around the house. We signed up for training and I told Larry my story and said I don’t care if we leave with anything else but this dog needs to be house trained. I don’t want my daughter walking or crawling and end up in a mess on a rug, he said not a problem and to make a list of everything you want and we will get it done. After several weeks of classes she slowly got better. We left with skills for myself to work on because he explained that corgis are great dogs but they are BOSSY and that she is. She gave us a run for our money at training some nights but we got it done. After the class was completed he told me to call anytime I have any questions and doesn’t care how long it has been since training so not only do you get formal training you get a contact to help you down the road. We got done with training and not only was she house broken, my wife could walk her on the leash and she knows her commands. We still work with her on a regular basis due to the breed. He explained she has to be tested and think or else the breed gets board. If you’re ever on the fence if it worth it or not like I was, just trust the process and you will be surprised!
