K9 Kompanion Training

We had a fantastic experience with K9 Kompanion! Before training, our dog pulled constantly on walks, but now she walks calmly right next to us on leash. The trainers also helped her master basic commands and “place,” which has made such a difference at home. One of our favorite things is the post-training get-togethers they organize for former trainees—group walks in the park and even trips to Home Depot to reinforce skills in real-world settings. Their daycare is also wonderful: commuter-friendly drop-off and pickup times, and our dog spends the day happily running in the woods with other well-trained pups. We couldn’t recommend them more!

We adopted our rescue dog, Grayson, when he was 8 months old. He had been a stray in Alabama during COVID, and once the world started opening up again, we realized Grayson was very reactive and saw many everyday things as threats. He couldn’t be around other dogs or new people. At home, Grayson was such a love with his “people,” but we knew he needed help learning that the rest of the world could be safe too. That’s when we reached out to K9 Kompanion for their board-and-train program. Grayson spent four weeks with Kat and Tiffany, and we received daily pictures and updates. We couldn’t believe our eyes! He was finally letting his guard down and even playing with other dogs. After the four weeks, Grayson came home a much more confident pup. Of course, there was still work for us as the humans to do to keep up with his training, but K9 Kompanion gave us the tools to support him. Now, three years later, we truly can’t imagine life with Grayson without them. His recall is amazing, he loves trotting around with other pups, and we feel confident helping him navigate the world. We now use K9 Kompanion anytime we go away. Grayson loves going to “camp” to see his friends—especially Tiffany, Kat, and Bella! We are forever thankful for everything K9 Kompanion has done for our family. We would HIGHLY recommend k9 Komanion to anyone thinking about sending their pup- they truly care for each dog like their own.

I can’t recommend K9Kompanion Training enough. Tully spent two weeks with them for training and boarding, and the experience was incredible. Not only did she come home with a great foundation of skills, but it was clear she had been loved and cared for the entire time she was there. They truly understand dogs and take the time to work with each one’s personality and needs. The updates and communication along the way also gave me so much peace of mind. Tully came home more confident, better behaved, and still her happy, playful self. I’m so grateful for the time and dedication they put into working with her. I would absolutely recommend K9Kompanion to anyone looking for thoughtful, effective training for their dog.

My wife and I owned a young female GSD (Lucy) who was very reactive to other dogs. This became enough of a problem that we could not let her off leash and had to constantly monitor her when walking on leash. After joining a couple of group training programs with little positive effect a young local dog walker that Lucy had taken to suggested that we contact K9 Kompanion training because they have a reputation for resolving these and many other issues through pack-based learning. It was, without a doubt the best advice we had received regarding Lucy's issues. We contacted K9K and after a couple of introductory emails, Tiffany (the owner) paid a visit to meet us and Lucy. She took Lucy into their 3 week training program almost immediately. When Tiffany brought Lucy home she was a different dog as far as behavior goes. Tiffany then trained us and provided both written materials and videos to reinforce their training regime. Lucy was now a member of the K9K pack and could not wait to join the pack on playgroup days which consist of constant activity with short rests during the day, unlike a couple we tried that consisted of short activity sessions with long bouts in the crate or return to home Lucy was fun on and off leash and had gobs of confidence, lack of which was one of her prior problems. Her confidence is on display in the attached photo where she is sitting on a kitchen/bar stool. We have had dogs for many years but none with the problems Lucy had that were now happily in the past and our lives were much better. Tiffany, Kat, and Bella provide pack-based training that is loving, compassionate and confidence instilling. Dogs thrive and grow at K9K. When Lucy passed due to cancer, we learned first hand that their compassion extends to the dog owners as well. When we were ready Tiffany, Kat, and Bella were right there all the way helping us find a rescue pup (or two - another story), bringing them into our home, introducing them to the K9K pack and training them. We now have two GSD mix rescue dogs; well behaved, full of puppy love and devotion and also part of the K9K pack.
