We have an 8 month old Great Dane. We had a previous trainer who had roughly handled our pup and she had high anxiety so we chose not to continue with that company and began our research to find a quality trainer. After asking around and going online Marcus came highly recommended by our groomers. He was so wonderful and patient with our pup, but more importantly with my learning curve. He gave both of us the confidence we needed to learn some important communication so we could work together. Then we went on to train our other puppy who wouldn’t listen kept pulling, jumping and doing his own thing. Within a short period of time Marcus taught him to walk well on leash, sit, stay, down, come and no jumping. He came to our home as well as had us meet him at different areas around town to expose our dogs to behaving while being around distractions.The dogs love and respect him because he means business but with a gentle hand that the dogs really responded to. He was patient and encouraging teaching me how to complete follow through with my dogs. I recommend Marcus without reservation, and his wife Kim who were so good at communicating with me throughout the process.

If you are serious about raising a properly trained dog, whether it’s just Fluffy the house-dog Golden-Doodle or a working dog, Marcus is your guy. After each session, he took the time to write out and give us a detailed overview of the lesson, along with take-aways and things to work on before our next session. Big Dog: He was going to eat her. He hated her… so we hired Marcus to come out and help us before our small problem escalated into a big one. From our first encounter, I could see a difference immediately. The dogs seemed to have been given a greater understanding of what I wanted and I was given a better way of communicating with them. I’m far from perfect… and my lack of follow-through was obvious. Still, Marcus was able to help me understand what was needed to make all our lives better. I’m not perfect but I’m willing to continue to put the work in to give my dogs better lives. I would feel confident contacting K9 Citizens Training if we experience any more problems in the future. This is my dog Noah …on his place… while I have food in the oven, he is sad he can’t have pizza ! A month ago, I couldn’t do this. Marcus and Kim saved his life. With their training and obedience fundamentals we were able to curb all aggression behaviors related to food. I can’t say enough about Marcus and K9 citizens club! Thank you Thank you Thank you !!
