Keep it Simple Stupid (K.I.S.S.) Dog Training provides private, positive reinforcement-based dog training in clients’ homes throughout the Kansas City metro. Owner and sole trainer Mike Deathe, CPDT-KA, has trained professionally since 2008 and founded K.I.S.S. Dog Training in 2010 with the mission “Training Owners, Not Dogs.” Mike helps owners address puppy behavior, manners, leash walking, reactivity, fear, anxiety, aggression and other behavioral concerns where they actually occur. K.I.S.S. does not use prong collars, choke chains or electronic shock collars. Pricing, policies, methods, expectations and the training process are clearly explained so clients can make an informed decision before moving forward.

We've used K.I.S.S. for two of our dogs and the help and guidance they offer is phenomenal. You get short-term tasks to work on which lead to long-term fixes for unwanted behaviors. Very highly recommend their services!

We purchased the puppy package when we first adopted our pup. Mike came out and went through all the training with us as well as shared videos. He also promptly answers all our questions via email as we continue to train. Our pup is now a year old and very well mannered. All his training, tips, and suggestions have paid off! We did everything possible to make this difficult. We bought two sibling West Highland White Terriers. We have had Westies before and know them to be very independent. These are no exception. The dogs did not have bad habits, but needed direction. Mike came to our house three times and taught us not only techniques, but also how the dogs are thinking and also what is reasonable to expect. Their behavior is far from perfect, but are making progress. It takes time and work to make this progress, but KISS gave us the tools to work toward good behavior with a minimum of frustration. I would highly recommend KISS to anyone who needs help learning to train their dogs in a kind but effective manner.
