Island Dog Obedience

It is hard to put into words exactly how grateful we are for the progress our pup made with Maria and Island Dog Obedience. We did a two week board and train with our 11 month old Labrador puppy, Slater and I can say with confidence, it was worth every penny! Our boy came back to us with so many positive behaviors. He now walks beautifully in heel and off leash, responds to a slew of new commands, is able to “place” when we have guests over and has better recall than we ever expected! A bonus for us was the daily photos and videos that Maria sent. It was such a treat to see his progress unfold… and receive proof that he was not only learning, but also happy and loved! The time, commitment and care that is put into this training program is truly one of a kind. Thank you so much, Maria & Island Dog Obedience!!!

Kristi with Island Dog Obedience was absolutely incredible. Our dog, who was once a stressful problem we struggled to deal with, turned into a fun, happy, obedient dog. He now listens when corrected, is extremely reliable off leash, has flawless recall, and can handle distractions well. Before, he was destructive, never listened, pulled his leash when walking, was unreliable with commands, and could never be trusted without a leash. Both of our lives and our relationship have significantly improved thanks to the training. For anyone who has a dog who has struggled with solely positive reinforcement training but is hesitant about e-collar use, I can assure you that it is safe and effective, and investing in the board and train so that a professional can teach you and your dog how to use it is well worth it. Use of the e-collar has allowed us to give our dog more freedom, and it is evident in his demeanor and behavior that he is less anxious and a lot happier. I have now realized that when used properly, the e-collar is an excellent communication tool, and is especially useful for dogs who struggle with obedience with only positive reinforcement. With a new baby in the house and a dog who never listened, this training was a Hail Mary that ended up being our saving grace. While the price may make some hesitate, if you want your relationship with your dog to significantly improve, and you know that despite how troublesome he might be, you don’t want to rehome your dog, I highly recommend the board and train. 10/10.

Best dog trainers on the island! I've sent both of my dog's Mano and Myla to Island Dog Obedience's 2-week board and train program and now I can take both of them out, on and off leash, with no worry or stress! We had such a good experience with Mano back when he went at 2 years old (he is now 8 years old), so we sent our 1 year old puppy Myla to the 2-week board and train too and both of them had such amazing results! We love Island Dog Obedience and we will always recommend them to everyone whenever someone needs a dog trainer who will make a huge difference. Mano was trained by Alex and Myla was trained by Raya! Both amazing trainers. During the 2 week training they both learned essential commands like heel, sit and stay, down, come, and place, along with learning to be more confident around other dogs, and have reliable recall even from a distance. All these things they learned helps to make life so much easier as it helps build trust in your dogs without worry!

I sent my 10-month-old Golden Retriever to Island Dog Obedience for their two-week program, and I’m honestly blown away by the results. Before training, my pup was sweet but definitely had some opportunity on the behavioral side of things. Now? He’s off-leash trained, stays in place while I move around the house, and listens with a level of obedience I didn’t think was possible this early on. The structure and consistency they provided made a world of difference, and the tools they sent us home with, including the best e-collar trainer in the business which set us up for success. My dog is now calm, confident, and responsive. If you’re on the fence, just do it. It’s been a total game-changer for both of us. Mahalo, Island Dog!
