Island Dog Obedience

We cannot begin to express how grateful we are for Raya and the effort she put into our dog! We sent Palala for a 2 week board and train to help with her jumping on people, bad walking habits, and building confidence with other dogs (especially bigger ones). Holy cow she came out of the other end so much more confident, more well behaved, and really showing off her new skills! Every day we would receive updates that included videos, photos, and text of Palala and her progress. She went to the beach, different stores, walks, and made some dog friends along the way! Since we have had her back, we have taken her out and about and she does a great job with her heel, doesn’t pull on the lead at all, and even sat with good manners while we had a conversation at target. In the house, she stays in her place without contest and waits for us to release her. We have done off leash work around the neighborhood and she’s doing amazing with that! This allows her to have a huge quality of life change. She can now get out more with us, without having to worry about her running off or having big reactions. She is confident in her skills and us to tell her what to do. We can’t begin to express our gratitude enough. Thank you! If you’re wondering if this is worth it, it definitely is.

Raya at Island Dog Obedience is absolutely amazing! She deserves more than 5 stars! She trained my dog, River, for two weeks and the results truly blew me away. River is a very high-energy dog, and Raya not only taught her all the commands, but also showed us how to properly control, correct behavior, and even work with River off-leash. I was honestly amazed at how quickly Raya was able to gain control, build structure, and transform River’s behavior. Her knowledge, confidence, and calm approach made such a difference, and she took the time to make sure we understood everything before taking River home. Kristi is truly one of a kind 🤩 My boyfriend and I came to her desperate for help with our new pup, Kona, who struggled with severe anxiety. He was scared of pretty much everything — people, new environments, being separated from us — and we were also dealing with barking, basic obedience, and some unwanted behaviors. After just 4 sessions, the transformation has been unbelievable. Today was our final session, and I honestly wish I had a video of how Kona used to be so people could truly understand how far he’s come. At the beginning, he wouldn’t even go up to Kristi and was extremely hesitant and fearful whenever she took the leash. Now? He confidently walks up to her on his own terms — calm, trusting, and self-assured. That alone speaks volumes. Kristi didn’t just train Kona — she guided us on how to train him the right way. She’s patient, knowledgeable, supportive, and truly cares about both the dog and the owners. She sets you up for success, but it’s important to note that the progress comes from continuing the work at home too — and her guidance made that possible for us. We had an excellent experience with Raya and Island Dog Obedience! We chose Island Dog Obedience to help us with reactivity and leash manners for our dog Zuko. Raya was so patient and knowledgable and knew how to connect with Zuko from the very beginning. Zuko came home calmer, much more responsive to commands and I can finally walk him on a leash without worrying that he would lunge and bark at other dogs uncontrollably. The daily progress videos Raya sent us were impressive and had everyone commenting that Zuko looked like a completely different dog! We felt confident that Zuko was safe and well cared for.
