Island Dog Obedience

I cannot with words express my deepest gratitude and highest accolades for Trainer Raya, Maria and all trainers and dogs involved in Brie's board and train experience, but I will do my best. While looking for places that could train- a couple friends recommended Island Dog Obedience-despite my hesitations and after some time, much frustration, and hearing the results and progress a dear friend had with her dog, I finally committed and wow- what a great decision! From the moment we began the consultation, Trainer Raya was exceptional! So patient, understanding, and firm with Brie... AND ME- exactly what we needed. At drop-off, Trainer Raya noticed my anxiety with leaving my baby, but definitely provided me the comfort to trust Brie was in great and capable hands! I could go on for some time listing all my wishes to be worked on during board and train, but from appropriate socializing with other dogs to whining/barking at animals on the TV to whining/pulling on her leash at other animals on walks to wildly jumping on the screen door to not knowing how to properly interact with other dogs to jumping on people when greeting to not knowing who I was outside of my house to eating all kinds of things on the ground- basically Brie did her own thing and had the BEST selective listening. I did a poor job socializing her and setting firm boundaries (among allowing other bad habits) with Brie for years and Trainer Raya worked so patiently and diligently to provide an effective and awesome foundation that I could pick up and continue. For 2 weeks- I looked forward to the detailed daily updates with pictures and videos of the work and training Brie was involved with. It was great to see how far she had come each day. I almost couldn't believe what I was seeing... it was like Brie was photoshopped into these updates. Furthermore, Trainer Raya and Maria were always readily available to answer my 1001 questions and concerns with empathy, understanding, and patience. Island Dog Obedience knows not all dogs are the same... and they train them for what they are- individual pups. They modified Brie's training after a couple days when Brie showed out- kept the e-collar and added the Bonker! What a significant change I was seeing. Additionally, at Brie's graduation and turnover- Trainer Raya, Maria, and other members of the team accommodated a lesson for me, my brothers, and their dogs to ensure we could all continue the training that had been completed and to learn how to properly and effectively introduce the dogs and lead them to be a pack together. The time spent, the education and information... I can honestly say- it was well worth it!! And I wish I would have done it sooooo much earlier! HIGHLY recommended for those who, like me, feel helpless and self-training was a moot point with a smart pup who found a way for me to just give in and not obey unless she wanted, or I had food. Mahalo nui loa Trainer Raya and Maria for the opportunity for Brie to board and train with you, I know she was challenging and has a ways to go, but a strong and amazing foundation has been laid! What Trainer Raya did with Brie was exceptional and is absolutely admirable and deserving of the highest accolades! I can't wait to continue with additional lessons and for you to see our progress. And I would be remiss if I didn't say thank you for the reminder that Brie will still love me even as a firm leader- even with the e-collar and a Bonker! 🥰 We are learning to trust ourselves, as a leader and as an obedient pup, more and more each day. Brie and I will continue to train each day to be the phenomenal (and calm/obedient) pup I know she can be! 💜

We have a French Bulldog puppy who has been described by other trainers as a bossy bully. She was completely steamrolling our 4 kids and even me to a certain degree. We did the board and train program with Trainer Raya and it has made the biggest impact! We no longer dread walks or meeting new people, and she no longer attempts to dart out the door whenever it is opened! She even follows the commands of my 6 year old! We're now able to enjoy our playful puppy with drastically less chaos in our household! During the board and train process, we got daily updates, photos and even videos of our pup that not only showcased her progress, but were super cute! I can't recommend Island Dog Obedience enough!
