Ideal K9 Training LLC

We sent our dog Indy to Ideal K9 Training, and the results were amazing. She came back knowing all her commands, listening the first time, and—best of all—she no longer drags our youngest daughter around by her nightgown. Our home is calmer, our dog is happier, and our daughter can finally move freely in pajamas. Nikki didn’t just train Indy—she transformed her. We’re beyond grateful for Nikki’s incredible work and the peace she’s brought to our home!

We can’t say enough about IDEAL K9 Training and Nikki’s expert guidance and direct training with our dog Gravity. We adopted our 80lb, 16 month/adolescent dog who was showing good signs of loyalty and attachment but was not sufficiently trained. He mouthed roughly when playing and didn’t stop when commanded, he didn’t follow stay, down or drop it commands and he pulled on the lead when walking so much that only my husband could (barely) walk him. He had an overall anxious and distracted demeanor as he was adjusting to our forever home. We took 2 training lessons with Nikki and were off to a great start with our e-collar and new lessons for both dog and humans. I would say the dog did better than us ultimately as we slacked off a bit (did I mention how adorable our pup is?) and our lack of consistency certainly made things harder. Since we also had a new grand baby on the way and were concerned about Gravity’s not yet fully disciplined behavior, we decided to do the 2-week boarding/training package–and boy were we pleased when he came home! Gravity is a new dog! He returned so well behaved and focused that we hardly recognized him! Of course we knew to continue with lessons at home to shore up his skills, but he returned from training disciplined and gentler overall. He follows the above commands seamlessly and even drops the ball/toy on command and will leave it as well. He enjoys the continued training and “break” so he can play freely and his walks are much calmer now. He still gets excited when seeing dogs on the street (we go back and forth from the stimulating city) but will listen to our sit/stay commands just the same. Nikki and her staff are skillful, flexible, and loving and Gravity has been briefly boarded once as well. He loves going there. I without hesitation highly recommend IDEAL K9 Training for anyone seeking guidance with their pup.

I HIGHLY recommend Nikki for training and boarding. Nikki worked absolute wonders with my pandemic pup, Remi, who had severe anxiety and aggression. She was awful on walks—pulling, barking, and reacting out of fear. I had tried other trainers, but nothing helped. Nikki’s board and train was my last hope. Nikki worked her magic, transforming Remi into a calmer, more balanced dog. Walks are enjoyable, and her anxiety has drastically improved. Remi is still picky with people but she LOVES Nikki. 3 years after the board and train, I still drive Remi all the way to Albany from Boston when I go out of town to board with Nikki because I know she’ll be happy and well taken care of. Nikki sends updates regularly and loves Remi as much as I do. If you’re struggling with behavioral issues, I highly recommend Nikki. She’s a miracle worker!

Our senior dog had never been alone till his sis passed and his anxiety was through the roof so we got an older puppy to have a pack again but she guarded so both went to Nikki the same time and she was amazing with them. They needed extra time and Nikki worked with them longer, no problem. Our pup still occasionally guards but “off” is an awesome command; works with our senior also when he starts his barking at cars and people. The difference in our guys post-training is astounding! Highly recommend Nikki! She stays in touch too and I can still ask questions even though training is over. Terrific experience all around!
