Which training plan is more effective?
Both training plans are very effective; it all just depends on how involved in the training you would like to be. Private training you’re involved in the entire training process and day training we take care of most of the training process for you. Then at pick up we will show you what we have done.

How old does my dog have to be to start training?
We can start in home Private dog training at anytime. If you wanted to do any in facility training with your pup. They must be at least 4 months of age!

What training methods do you use?
We are balanced trainers so we use all four quadrants of Operant Conditioning (positive reinforcement, positive punishment, negative reinforcement, and negative punishment.) and Classical Conditioning (a process that involves creating an association between a naturally existing stimulus and a previously neutral one). We start with the least invasive methods and only go more invasive as needed and with owner approval.

We want to give a huge thank you to Allison and her patient training of our 2 -year-old Labradoodle, Olive, and 8-month-old Shih Tzu, Momo. Both of our recently adopted furry companion have different issues and Allison did a great job targeting the training for each of them. We highly recommend Idaho K9 Academy.
Our Bernese Mtn. Dog Po is a friendly, exuberant boy that doesn't know he is very BIG and STRONG. Robert did a great job teaching him to not pull us over or jump up to give "hugs" to everyone. And, more importantly he taught us what we need to do to help Po remember his manners and commands. Definitely recommend!
Robert with K9 was absolutely amazing when it came to training my HIGH energy lab puppy River. Will and would recommend K9 over and over. Thanks for teaching River girl the basics, now we can build on those skills.
