FirstBarkAbsolutely amazing! We adopted an older dog who had some behavioral issues. I worried she was too old to train, but they did amazing with her! She knows ALL the basic commands now, and they worked with us to help us help her! I will absolutely go back to them if we add another dog to our family. I can’t recommend them enough! Fabulous!!!

Which training plan is more effective?
Both training plans are very effective; it all just depends on how involved in the training you would like to be. Private training you’re involved in the entire training process and day training we take care of most of the training process for you. Then at pick up we will show you what we have done.

How old does my dog have to be to start training?
We can start in home Private dog training at anytime. If you wanted to do any in facility training with your pup. They must be at least 4 months of age!

What training methods do you use?
We are balanced trainers so we use all four quadrants of Operant Conditioning (positive reinforcement, positive punishment, negative reinforcement, and negative punishment.) and Classical Conditioning (a process that involves creating an association between a naturally existing stimulus and a previously neutral one). We start with the least invasive methods and only go more invasive as needed and with owner approval.

We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Idaho K9 Academy! Each week our puppy would come home with a new skill and obedience. They loved our puppy just like their own and were always so helpful in explaining his new skills. Robert was such a great trainer and we highly recommend Idaho K9 Academy!
My Trainer was awesome with my dog, noticeable improvement in his behavior.

Idaho K9 Academy…THE BEST! We took our 10 month old Goldendoodle that we had recently adopted to them. 5 sessions, once a week for all day each session. At the end of each session Allison, his trainer, reviewed the day with me. Of course, then it was up to me to practice with Eddie at home each day before we returned the next week. He learned each task so quickly. He was crazy about Allison, and she was the perfect trainer for him. Now we have a dog that knows “place” so we use that for many things, but especially when someone is at the front door…no more rushing! Also, his “stay” is excellent. “Sit” and “down”…piece of cake. He “heels” perfectly on a leash and no longer tries to lunge at other dogs or people. Eddie was VERY impulsive prior to his training…not anymore! And he is very proud of himself! If you are looking for EXCELLENT training call them NOW! Don’t wait! Thank you Allison and Idaho K9 Academy! We will be back in the spring for his next phase. We can’t wait!
