Updating: Almost 6 years after leaving this review I got a notification they replied calling my review “baseless” and saying I’ve never been in contact with them. Adding a screenshot of the contact in 2020. Correct I did not go through with training BECAUSE of my terrible experience with them. They are now being sued which I am happy about and could have predicted. They are terrible!!!!! I have never heard anything good about them and my review below still stands: They don't understand dog behavior and they are not qualified. And that review is NOT baseless because I DID interact with your staff and could tell from that initial interaction (that is not included in my screenshot) that they were not qualified or knowledgeable. Why would I go through with PAYING for training when I knew you didn't know what you were doing?? Original review: Stay far away! They don’t understand dog behavior and don’t seem qualified at all!!!

Cypress Hill (my son’s service dog - they had already named him cypress and my son’s last name is hill, so we knew it was meant to be!) has been such an amazing addition to our family. He has increased my son’s independence and taught him responsibility and given me peace of mind. Cypress is serious and has a job to do when he has his vest on, then you take it off, and he’s the goofiest and most athletic little poodle I’ve ever seen. It’s like he turns back into a playful puppy once you take the vest off at home, BUT he still has his eye on his boy and he’ll alert us to seizures regardless. I can’t say enough good things about Highland and their commitment to customize service dogs to the needs of the person. It’s a year after placement, and I still text or speak with them whenever good or challenging things pop up, and they get back to me immediately. Fantastic people to work with, and they provide beautiful and intelligent and happy dogs to help your loved one succeed.

I will never be able to thank Highland Canine Training for everything they did for my family. They trained our service dog to fit the exact needs of the condition we needed him for. The entire staff was informative, responsive, knowledgeable, experienced, and, most of all, compassionate and kind. The Highland staff absolutely became a part of our family. The entire staff fully embodied the “there are no silly questions” atmosphere that I truly needed for this process. I would recommend this company to anyone that is in need of their wide range of services. You will never regret choosing Highland to train your dog exactly the way you need him/her to be.
