Luis and the whole team at Harmony are truly amazing! I sent my older rescue boy, Mario, there as a Hail Mary to help correct some of his bad manners/protective issues I have had with him. Mario is an Akita mix who was found as a stray at a common dumping ground in Arizona and had a lot of unknown trust issues to work though - both with humans and other dogs. After years of not being able to have company or take him to busy walking areas out of fear of how he reacts to uncertain stimuli, I decided to bite the bullet and try out a Board and Train, accepting that at an older age (~9 or 10 years), it might be hard to change his habits. Three weeks later, Mario has learned so much and is a dream to take on our normal walks! No more pulling, no reacting to dogs that walk by, and he has even come to a soccer game with me and allowed people to come up and talk to me! It is a complete life changer to go on walks together without the added anxiety of "what if." I no longer have to turn around as soon as I see another dog on the trail, I am not crossing streets to avoid people, and my arms are enjoying the break from holding him back :) We are also working on meeting new people (and slowly dogs) in my life so that I can have friends over. Luis has coached me with correct introductions and changing the narrative that Mario believed in where he was the boss. I have total control over interactions now, and I can feel that Mario respects me more since his training. I have friends who have asked me if I exchanged dogs in the 3 weeks because he is so well-behaved! Mario and I are excited for continuing our training with Luis in more public spaces - did I mention he want to the Farmer's Market and Bass Pro Shop while in training?! Luis and the whole team really care about the dogs in their care, and you can tell he difference it makes. An added bonus - I now have a group I can fully trust with boarding Mario when I go on vacations or work trips. I know he is getting the care and enrichment needed while I'm gone, and the level of mental freedom that comes with just this is unmatched. 20/10 would recommend.

Three months ago, I brought my 5-month-old German Shepherd/Cattle Dog mix (Bear) to Harmony for a first meeting with Luis. I was completely unprepared for the needs of the breed(s) and with all of the reactivity and constant biting, I wondered whether we would ever be able to make it work. When Luis identified Bear as one of the tougher puppies to come through Harmony, I had little hope of getting him to be the dog we needed him to be (and getting me to be the owner I needed to be) but he worked with me to get him into full-time day school and the difference has been night and day. I had been treating my dog like a human baby, trying to love the aggression out of him, which did nothing for his growth and development, and while I initially struggled with some of the methods Luis suggested (because I'm NOT an alpha), I began to see how well he understands dog psychology and could predict Bear's every move and I had no choice but to pay attention to all the things he was telling me. I'm no dog whisperer and I'm still far from the leader Bear needs, but with the groundwork laid by Luis and the amazing staff at Harmony, Bear went from a dog who couldn't walk out of the house without going into attack mode to a beautiful puppy that can walk the entire lake at Lincoln Woods without so much as a bark or lunge at other dogs or people. I never thought I would see the day I'd feel comfortable having him roam the house freely with my daughters there, but here we are. The last three months brought us from crying every day from the exhaustion of trying to train Bear and keep everyone safe, to the pure joy of having this beautiful pup as a member of our family. It's been a rollercoaster and Luis has seen me cry along the way but if we hadn't come to Harmony right when we did, I'm not sure we would have been able to safely keep Bear in our home with my kids - and now we can't imagine our lives without our Beary Boo. <3 Harmony truly saved the day for Bear and our family!

Cannot thank Luis & his team enough! I rescued a 7 month doodle mix, amazing dog, but we could not get her to stop jumping on people out of pure excitement, she had social anxiety, she was nibbling for fun & jumping up on the counters for food. My family and I decided the 3 week board would be most beneficial and boy are we happy we did that. We just picked her up last week and the difference is unbelievable. Luis had also trained us how to use an e-collar properly (and no it does not “shock” our dog), our dog is now leash trained and has not jumped on the counter ONCE for food. At the end of the 3 week training, Luis took a solid 2 hours to help us learn how to incorporate the day to day training in our dog’s life so we can continue to implement healthy habits. We look forward to continue working with him & his team to continue to help train our dog! ADVICE for those that are hesitant to send their puppies/dogs to a board & train. TRUST THESE PEOPLE. We were on the same boat as you and were soo sad that we felt like we were abandoning our dog. After a day or two, Luis reassured us that she was adjusting just fine. She loved it so much there and was actually soo excited to see the trainers there when we brought her back!

We recently boarded our dogs, Mya and Hank, at Harmony Dog Training while we were away for a week, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience! From the moment we dropped them off, it was clear they were in great hands. The staff was professional, attentive, and genuinely caring, making us feel completely at ease. Mya and Hank had an amazing time—plenty of play, socialization, and personalized attention. We could tell they were well cared for and happy when we picked them up.
