First Choice Canine

I looked into many different training options before finding First Choice. My dog stayed for 5 weeks (because she is an older dog). When we picked her up, we were shown how to give and reinforce commands. After we brought her home, the staff reached out to check in to see how we were doing and supported us via email and follow up visits. My dog is more calm and confidant. She is also less anxious in general when we are home, in the community, and in the car. I would highly recommend First Choice Canine. The trainers are so kind and committed.

I found First Choice Canine through a friend. The best thing that could have happened for my dog. Sadie was 15 months old when she went to KB. I could never walk her by myself without being dragged everywhere. I could never get any work done at home without her trying to eat my laptop. That has all changed now thanks to the folks at First Choice Canine. What a completely different dog she is! Such a pleasure to be able to walk her, and I can work without her at me to constantly play! Also, one of the best things is she is so calm! I can't get over what they can do for dogs. We sent our Boxer, Cooper, to Khaled and his team at First Choice Canine for the board and train program, and the results have been life-changing! Before the training, Cooper was full of energy but struggled with obedience and behavioral issues such as jumping on guests, pulling on the leash, and engaging in rough play with other dogs. After spending a few weeks with Khaled, Cooper has transformed into a calm, well-mannered dog who listens to commands, respects boundaries, and is much more relaxed in social situations. The team was professional, knowledgeable, and truly passionate about dogs. They took the time to understand Cooper’s personality and tailored the training to address his specific challenges. We appreciated the regular updates during the program and the thorough guidance on maintaining his training at home. We used First Choice Canine to get more 1:1 training for our 6 month old pup. We had already been through group puppy class at another facility, but it didn’t provide the tools for us or our dog that we needed to have him be well incorporated into our home and family with young children. The scheduling process and communication with Ashleigh was excellent and clear. Khaled worked 1:1 with our dog and did just as much training for us as he did with the dog. He highlighted common issues that helped us understand the importance of consistency with our dog. He seemed to know what struggles we may be having, even when we didn’t tell him. He is a bit of a dog whisperer - our pup was always excited to work with him. It’s now 6 months later and even after welcoming a new baby, our pup is able to walk respectfully on a leash with kids in tow, and best of all - maintain “place” command which allows us to eat dinner in peace without having to crate him. He’s thriving in a house with 3 kids, 3 cats and even our goat! We are looking forward to our upcoming group class as a refresher for him. We recently got both of our dogs , Croix and Brinley back from first choice canine and could not be more happy with the results. Prior to sending them the KB, our dogs both had behavior issues including reactivity and resource guarding, I was not able to walk both of them at the same time due to their pulling , and they had even gotten in multiple fights with each other resulting in injuries to both of them. So everything to do with both of the dogs became pretty stressful for fear of them biting another dog, a person, or each other. Brinley went for 3 weeks and Croix went for 5, and upon picking them up they are different dogs behaviorally but with the same loving personalities. They are so calm, they are easy to walk on a leash, and we don't have to be high strung and fearful whether it be in our house or bringing them out in public. Their training with KB had made their lives so much better as well as mine, as they can go just about anywhere with me. KB and his team have quickly answered any questions we have now that they are home, and the follow up sessions and classes have really helped as well. For anyone in a similar situation that we were in, sending both dogs to first choice was with every penny. The amount of stress that it took off our shoulders and seeing both Croix and Brinley become the best version of themselves is so worth it. I can't speak highly enough of KB and everyone at First Choice Canine!
