Can a Malamute or Siberian husky be trained as a service or therapy dog?
Great question Beverly. It's not unheard of to see the breed in service of therapy dog work. As with any breed, it depends on temperament and aptitude for the work we are requiring of the dog.

How much is the service dog/therapy dog training class?
Hello Tansi, There are actually three different programs of this nature in our class line up. The Service Dog Skills and Professional Therapy Dog Skills classes are $100 for four weeks of training. The therapy dog training/certification is a two day course for $50. You can find all information regarding enrollment on our website www.welltrainedfamilydog.com, click on Training Classes and scroll down to the classes that interest you. Wonderful experience! Explained training and equipment so I understood it.
All of our work was done under Janice's guidence. I can't say enough about her training methods, and her credentials. She is extreemly knowledgable, and was in tune with my individual needs and requirements and no short cuts were taken. I highly recommend her services.

I have taken many classes with FDT&BC (Family Dog Training & Behavioral Center) over the years with my Golden, and one thing I can say that is very consistent with these people is positivity and professionalism. I particularly enjoy classes being taught by Kelly Spencer. She is so good at explaining and helping you problem solve. I got my Golden CGC certified through these people, and would highly recommend them to anyone who is looking for a good place to train their dog.
