I recommend John to all my dog-owning friends. We did 8 private lessons with our 3 month old irish doodle. I had called other trainers in the area, even went to one puppy class offered by another trainer. John, by far, blows them all away. He has an incredibly calm and patient demeanor with our dog and our whole family (including the kids). Takes it slow, explains everything, gives great instruction and corrections as we learned to walk her on a leash, put her in place, sit, down, stay off the couch, off the kitchen counter, and trained her not to bolt out the front door. We're so impressed and trust this guy so implicitly that we have the puppy scheduled to board and train with him this summer. Will update this review after that.

I was introduced to John by my previous dog trainer who worked with us on mastering the basic obedience commands. Unfortunately my dog Cosmo really required more behavioral training due to his reactivity to strangers. He’s a pit mix rescue from the Caribbean with a lot of reactive anxiety that started showing a few months after he was adopted. He would ferociously bark at anyone new and if allowed bite out of fear and pent up tension and frustration. After having a consultation with John, he explained the behavior he was observing and how to go about correcting it. So we started with private lessons and through each lesson I learn so much and continue to gain more confidence in managing my reactive dog. I’ve seen significant changes in Cosmo’s behavior since we started and it truly has made me so happy to see. John is patient and so knowledgeable. He comes with years of dog training experience. He’s great to work with and knows how to be constructive in a respectful way. He knows how to tailor the lessons specifically to your dog and it just really shows the love he has for what he does.
