What does the in kennel training consist of?
Durham Kennels’s Board and Train Program is designed for pet owners with busy schedules and those who need the guidance, help and expertise of an experienced trainer. If you choose this option, your dog will stay at the kennel for three weeks. Basic obedience is on leash, on collar training and consists of the following commands: come, sit, down, stay, heel and variations of all of these. Jim will work with your dog several times a day using a method of training that utilizes firmness, repetition, consistency, positive reinforcement, and lots of love. Upon completion of the initial in-kennel training, you will pick your dog up and have the first of six private classes. All family members ages 14 and up are invited and welcomed to attend. A critically important part of your dog’s training, these sessions are designed to teach you how to handle your dog and to ensure that you understand and can properly execute all of the basic obedience commands.

Why does my 10 week old shihtzu go out side and does nothing bring him back in and immediately he potties
This is very common. I recommend crate training as the best option for house-breaking. Give me a call and I will be happy to give you some pointers on how to handle this behavior.

We can’t say enough wonderful things about Jim and his training. He transformed our Doberman into an amazing dog! He is very professional and really cares about your dog. His communication is awesome too! If you want to see your dogs potential hire Jim!!!
We loved the experience and learned a lot about our dog! The classes, that are offered as a part of the package, really help to understand how to give structure to the owner-dog relationship. Our girl is very smart and often tries to manipulate situations in her favor. Jim was able to teach us ways to keep her alert and attentive but very much in check :) Much happier dog! Jim is very compassionate and trustworthy with the dog you will have nothing to worry about your dog will be in the best hands possible. If you’re looking to train your dog this is the place to do it you will not be disappointed thank you again Durham Kennels! Also my dog is 110 pounds at 9 months old I thought I was in real big trouble but Jim showed me how to correct when to correct and everything has been smooth since!
